As far as an out and out scoring forward goes there are several that are an even level so in no particualr order:
Gooch
Stephen O'Neill
Paddy Bradley
Michael Meehan
Michael Murphy

In terms of overall footballing ability you would have to add:
Sean Cavnagh
Declan O'Sullivan
Probably both better footballers than the list above but just not quite a tradional scoring forward as the list above

There is alot of very good footballers in the next tier of scorng forwards
Benny Coulter
Bernard Brogan
Eoin Bradley
Colm McFadden
Conor Mortimer
Aidan O'Se
Eoin Mulligan
Seanie Johnstone

By the way even the thought of Alan Brogan on that list makes me laugh. Are there seriously still Dubs who really think that he is still better than his brother becasue he is a bit of a fancy Dan?
Alan Brogan is unstoppable on his day. Unforunately that day tends to be when no one is marking him and his team are 10points up. His brother on the other hand will stand up and be counted at any time and won't let you down, and won't cry of injured becasue he is afraid of Conor Gormley

Not just cause i'm from Tyrone but i genuinely think that Stephen O'Neill when on top of his game is the best out there at the moment, on a consistant basis its that wee ginger boy from Kerry.

Sorry should have added the Armagh lads, would have Clarke in the first list and McDonnell in the second just based on consistency. Although if McDonnell was more consistent he could be out on his own above everyone.

Depends what you are looking for.

As a serial scorer CJ, but as an all round performer, Kevin.

After that it would be Gooch and Donaghy.

I dont really think I am being unfair on Alan Brogan, can you tell me on one accasion when he steeped up to the mark played at the very top level (thats AI quarter of after) and really performed for Dub. Patrique your obsession with the McCourty and Ciaran Donaghy is a little unsettling. I would hav CJ in that second tier but really and truely he has to prove himself at the top level. What the criac this year with Antrim is he gonna throw another hissy fit? As for Donaghy well he is occasionaly effective but-----

But some people have Stephen O'Neill, last time he was a threat was in 2005. Not his fault, all the injuries, but why pick on the others and absolve hoim?

Donaghy is a marvel, second only to Gooch because Gooch can score more.

The McGourty thing is merely to point out that there is probably some forward in Leitrim/Kilkenny/Longford who is brilliant but we never hear about them because by and large the media decides who is good and who is not.
