I know it's early but could we see if there is much difference in peoples predictions for the last 8 in the championship.

Mayo
Galway
Kerry,
Cork,
Dublin,
Meath,
Armagh,
Sligo.

No 51 you'd surely have to add Rosscomon and Leitrim to that list . Probably take off Armagh and one other? You'd be pretty close after that.

Provincial Winners: Mayo, Dublin, Cork, Tyrone (still think they will be the best in Ulster)

Other 4: Kildare, Donegal, Wicklow, Kerry (can't believe how many people are writing off the Kingdom off so quickly)

I think that after yesterdays performance you can safely remove Galway from that list.

What are the chances of getting at least one serious and lucid thread from Mayo, honestly they operate on a paralell universe to the rest of us!

Surely they're no going to disqualify the connacht champions!!

Anyway i think its still too early to pick 8 certain teams but i reckon Kerry, Cork, Dublin and Tyrone are going to be there without a doubt, after that theres probably Down and Mayo (provided they don't collapse) and as for the last 2 it could be any one of about 12 teams so who knows. Just let the league run its course before we sing anymore praises or write anymore obituaries.

tyrone

Fairshoulder I was being ironic! Of course Armagh should be on the list. I was merely trying to mock 51's list with the inclusion of 3 Connaght sides and one Ulster county. Keep up man.

Back Door into last 8:
Kerry, Down, Kildare?, Armagh?

Very difficult to call last couple of teams. Armagh are showing sides that they have a settled side after rebuilding. Antrim/Mayo/Donegal/Meath could sneak into the last 8 depending on who they get drawn against. I am working on the assumption that Galway are substantially better than they were on Sunday and with injuries cleared up and peaking for the championship they will be able to take Connacht. I am a little worried if Kildare have the 2nd season syndrome after a shocking result against Armagh in Crossmaglen, but hopefully not. Looking at league form is often the best way to get predictions wrong!

In general terms if ye want to choose the most likely last 8 ye need look no further than the top 6 division one counties along with the promoted 2 at the conclusion of the league. Obviously subject to two sides being drawn against each other early on. I think last year Meath were the exception. And Monaghan werent in the last 8 either BUT apart from them........

So, i am not even entitled to my opinion now, i do enjoy HS, but some of the arrogance shown is really awful. To say Mayo people know nothing about football is not alone ridiculous but its insulting, we were living and breathing football in a fanatical sense long before your all of a sudden pouncing on the scene.

Most of the teams i predicted would of feature in q/fs in last few years, so why is it so ridiculous? Leaving Tyrone out might be seen as foolish, but i truly believe they are not as good as people make out. Mayo fans would have no problem with Tyrone anyhow, beat them in 89, 04 and should of knocked the s..t out of them last time in championship, even beat them on their own soil in the league.
