Replying To GeniusGerry:  "In all fairness he does have a point. We were the incumbent champions most of the times we played them and were going for three in a row in one of the finals. Given how rare back to back Sam's are it could have been a factor. Tyrone were a fine fine side but they did meet us at very opportune times also. Do remember that they lost to some fairly average sides during their purple patch in 03-08"
In 2004 they were rocked by Cormac McAnalan's death, there is no doubt that they would have been there or thereabouts that year had they gotten through. But whether they would have won that year is an impossible question. How many back to backs would they have won if he were alive? Would they possibly have gotten 3 in a row? Would they have avoided the back door in 2005-2008? All impossible questions really. 3 All irlelands was a very good return considering they had no tradition of winning before 03.

And they still push the current Dublin team all the way.

The Kerry team of 07 would beat the current Dublin team."
in your opinion ! I reckon you are wrong.

All important factors for sure, mcanallan's untimely passing in particular must have hit the team hard. I also suspect that the effort required to win an All Ireland with the intensity with which they played must have been very hard to maintain in consecutive years.

For whatever reason they never looked the same in the years after they won Sam. Kerry never met them in any of those years and I wonder what the outcome would have been. Who knows as you rightly say.

Hate is and will always be reserved for Cork, Dublin just happens to be the team knocking us off first place at the minute, hence why I have no time for them, if it was Limerick Id be saying the same.

Now leave me alone I'm drinking

Ha, don't believe for a minute you would feel the same loathing for the likes of Limerick or whatever, it's Dublin and Cork, Tyrone and Mayo that you Kerry lads don't like to see winning, and all of us don't like to see ye winning, and that's a big compliment, we have a few haters ourselves :D

Sums it up really. ...

I don't HATE any county.
Respect a lot, Dislike some and have time for many.

And a poster reserves HATE for any team knocking Kerry off 1st place as they say...
My previous point proved without doubt and some Kerry posters believing it to be their God given right to be the top team ALL the time.....

Unbelievable.

They just can't hack it.

Dubs are top for the moment.
Won't always be and us Dublin fans know that. Hence why we enjoy these Rare moments of dominance.
We don't expect to be No.1 all the time unlike our refined polite and humble friends down in Munster.

I have the upmost respect for Kerry and all they have achieved over the years but I certainly don't Hate them.

I rest my case...

I wouldnt .....it would be embarrassing for them.

You can only judge a team in the era they play in. Things have moved on. The top teams today are better than the top teams of the era. The game is faster and more physical.

Dunno about this. Fitness and conditioning levels would be a bit better without a doubt but that's about it.

Are you honestly saying a Tyrone team with the likes of Jordan Cavanagh mcguigan Dooher O'Neill and Canavan would be embarrassed by Dublin? Ye are good but not that good. All else being equal there would be nothing in it IMO
