Replying To MuckrossHead:  "I can't agree. If we have reached the stage that U21 players can't play two games in a week then I give up.

If they have anything about them, and I think they have, then they should be champing to play every game they can especially when things are going so well."
I'm sorry Muck I can't agree with you on this one. Wednesday night's game was one of the most energy sapping games I've seen, a game that also included extra time.

I have no doubt these lads can play 2 games, or in this case 3 games within a week. But to risk any of these lads tonight in what should be another energy sapping game in poor conditions and then ask them go at it again on Wednesday night is simply too much.

I feel that we should be giving the under 21's the best chance possible to beat Tyrone on Wednesday night, a competition that we have a real chance of success in this year.

Donegal lead 9-4 at half time on a miserable evening

just not effin good enough at this level, no excuses for the shyte on display tonite with 1pt in over 50 mins and only 3 from play. nothing to do with conditions as it's the same for both teams. too many fair weather players who haven't a clue and are devoid of any thinking on their feet. time to start trying different options but not going to happen with harte in charge

I think our boys didn't fancy it when the seen the rain and wind, too many spoiled brats who need a kick up the backside. more worried about their hairstyles than the Tyrone cause, fair play to Donegal, well deserved victory.

a lot of spray tans and hair gel running into their eyes cos they didn't have a bloody clue. looked like an u16 team running like headless chickens. God help tyrone when they lose the experience of McMahon, Cavanagh, McCarron. At that stage maybe we'll have got rid of harte and the new manager/s will try a new system that isn't still stuck in the 00s. If we get a few wet days in UC it looks like we are going to be on the road a few Saturdays later in year

Great win by Donegal, seem to be a coming side of all the sides with great youth they seem to one of the counties blooding some very talented players and reaping the benifits.

Well Rory played all the U21's he could and hopefully they all came through unscatched.

It was a horrible night for football and fair play to our lads for some magnificent scores in those conditions. I thought we played well throughout, Murphy was fantastic even though he had Mc Mahon putting him under severe pressure all night. Ryan Mc Hugh was also brilliant and Ciaran thompson's three points from play in the first half were sublime. Eoin Ban is fast becoming an important player for this team.

Cian Mulligan did well when he came on in what I think was his debut. With Paddy Mc Brearty, Caolan Ward, and Jason Mc Gee to come back in and Martin Mc Elhinney getting another wee run tonight the panel is looking stronger than it has been in a long time.

I don't think Tyrone will play as bad as that again in 2017, their shooting was awful and although I don't know their full panel I'm sure they have some better forwards than what was on display tonight. I'd expect a different Tyrone team come championship.

Excellent result and win for Donegal tonight. Well done.

Maybe there should be a Donegal for Sam thread now - there seems to be numerous ones for the Top 4 teams all the time.

Tongue in cheek I take it Fionn!

In Donegal we know where we stand. This is a very young team, talented but also young and with a team of young players it will take time to get them right for the heat of championship. This team will be competitive for a good few years to come but to have them tagged for Sam is just wrong at this stage. A good platform would be a provincial title but hardened championship teams like Tyrone and Monaghan lie in wait.

Enjoying times to watch this team progressing and playing some nice football with it. We'll keep the Donegal for Sam thread until next year!!

We drew with one of the greatest team of our generation away in the exact same conditions. Probably should of won it. Were they thinking of their hairstyles then?

Far too many posters from round the country being complimentary for my liking, to me it shows that we are still not seen as serious contenders.

God be with the days when all we got was abuse, that's when you know you are seen as a real threat.

Very poor by Tyrone. Well done Donegal. Tyrone are nowhere near where they need to be.
