Just like last years league final, it'll matter during the game and for an hour or two after it's over.

If none of this matters and no one cares then why is the game a sell out? Why is every hotel and BnB in Tralee booked out? No one knew about the record cause no one got near it in decades now with one game to go against our biggest rivals the number 1 Gaa county of them all with their record on the line in their back yard you think they don't care ? Are you's having a laugh this is Kerry the kingdom they will do everything possible to win this game they don't win 37 all Ireland's and more national leagues without having massive pride.

I think you could almost apply that to any game of sport

There's a marathon on in Tralee that weekend, that's a major reason accommodation is hard to come by.

I think you are confusing the game mattering and the record mattering , those that booked Tralee booked it long ago with matches ahead anyone if which we could have lost.
Yes the game matters , yes the points matter, I honestly don't think they will try any harder , for I believe record or not they will want to put us in our place

Have to say, i think the record is a by, its a great opportunity for Kerry to show some intent, steel and progression as a county, i can see them being under huge pressure to perform against Dublin. Its a big match for Fitzmarice too.

A fascinating by product will be what Fitzmaurice will do, he has in the last few years preferred to play a very defensive self contained game against Dublin in many ways against the natural identity of Kerry football, he has got a lot of criticism in Kerry for results against Dublin, should be fascinating to see if he will go toe to toe with Dublin or tries to contain and smash and grab. I will be the first game for a lot of the Senior Dublin lads so Dublin could well be caught cold.

What's great to see is the way the league has become more important over the last couple of years & in my opinion we have the Dubs to thank for that. Every time they play they attract a big crowd & rightfully so as they are a super team to watch especially now that they have got the defence side of things sorted out.

I fully expect to see a sell out in Tralee & there will also be a huge crowd in Ballybofey where Donegal play great local rivals Tyrone. Donegal will be anxious to keep their unbeaten record there which is now 20+

Great times.

You have to hand it to the GAA it a bit of genius really to dig up an old record that no one knew we had,
the dubs will equal the record on Saturday week in Tralee and the GAA will sell out croke park for the Roscommon game.
I can see it on billboards and on the side of busses " come see your boys in blue beat an 80 year old record " they'll have fireworks and hector with the microphone and men in kilts with drums I can see it all now :-)

Dublin v Kerry is always a huge game, but in the context its just another league game, If we lose this game yet win an all Ireland, id take that all day long.

Replying To clondalkindub:  "Kerry v Dublin the Gaa's biggest game has just got a whole lot bigger in two weeks time with Dublin travelling down to the kingdom to equal the Kerry record of 34 games unbeaten in league and championship. Don't tell me that Kerry won't want to badly beat Dublin so they won't equal their great record and don't tell me Dublin won't be mad to win so they can equal the record, so I personally can't wait for Saturday week with a sell out game it's going to be a massive occasion."
Would like Kerry to win this game but not for a record set way before I was born. I couldn't care less about it actually.

I'm not optimistic though, given our recent performances.

Ouch looks like I missed out on a bitch fest while I was away. Love playing these lads in any competition, leave out the politics and step out of the time warp, this is football, pure and simple.
