New President of GAA

Its an administrative appointment, hopefully he does well but by the very nature of the appointment it is a national one so county politics dont come into it, if anything i think he will be more under pressure not to do anything favorable for Dublin.

Not that it makes a blind bit of difference anyway.

Replying To ColinWex:  "1961. Wexford have had 2 and the last one was 1952. Clare have had 1 and that was 1887, Leitrim have never had one.
I don't care, good on Horan hope he does a great job but there are heaps of counties who haven't even had one president yet!"
Incorrect.

JJJ Stuart in 1961 represented Dublin but was from Clare.

Get your facts right.

Replying To Awwwwnow:  "He can't be any worse than my own Townie who done nothing this past 2 years.
But he would turn up to the opening of an envolope!!"
Well the Cavan man has backed three major decisions made that will impact the Gaa forever & have serious detrimental impacts on clubs, in fact these three major decisions in his Presidency could be seen as the start of the era of professionalism at Inter County level in the Gaa. No 1 was the new Sky Deal giving Sky massive control on televised games, No 2 was giving the GPA a percentage of all commercial Gaa revenue for the first time in the history of the Association & No 3 was overseeing & supporting the Ard Stiurothoir's motion on the Super 8 that none of the entire playing membership wanted. Lastly his solo run on offering in the future that the Gaa could abandon it's National Flag & Anthem to appease others politically was ill thought out & was never discussed or debated at any level within the Association, so were comments that had no basis or approval by the membership of the Gaa. Overall a Presidency that left a lot to be desired & could have massive consequences in the future.
