Replying To keeper7:  "Fantastic player. He'll be hurling well into March now! I wonder would he link up with the county hurlers after that? He'd be well down the pecking order with Jim Gavin by then, no...?"
No mate he has already thrown his lot in with the footballers at County level. Whether this will be his break through year with the senior football team remains to be seen, he played for the seniors last year in the league making his debut against Kerry and came on in provincial games in the championship including the final so he is already blooded at senior level to a degree. Cuala success might halt his progress this year, I think he would have got games had Cuala not done so wel.

My opinion is he will be part of the U21 campaign and be part of the senior panel after, he already has a senior league, provincial and all Ireland medal from last year and a Leinster u21. Some achievement at 20 if he adds a Club hurling all Ireland medal.

In the U21 football last year his scoring record for games played was:

1-7 vs Meath
0-5 vs Loais
1-7 vs Kildare
1-5 vs Mayo

I know many Jacks feel he's ready for a senior start, but you have to trust Gavin.

Congrats to Cuala becoming the 1st Dublin club to reach an All Ireland Senior Hurling Club Final.

Fanstastic achievement.

Fully deserved win - by far the better team.

Replying To hill16no1man:  "Great performance by cuala
Con o Callaghan on fire again
Disappointed with the ref near the end for not sending off the player who first struck con with the hurl and then threw him to the ground by the neck, it's a straight red card and he only hands out a yellow, you cannot let these things go unpunished"
Exactly Hill...

Con is some talent.

Hope Cuala do themselves proud on Paddy's Day.
They are a serious hurling team.

The funny thing about Ulsterman is he's no problem supporting Celtic in the Scottish league.

Well done Cuala, great performance yesterday and making a little bit history also. Massive fair play to Slaughtneil, a tiny club in comparison. To be there in both codes is amazing and camogs also.

Patronising guff. If Ulster sides had even a tenth of the funding that Dublin hurling gets they may have a chance.

It wasn't intended as patronising but I can't control how you will take it (on behalf of another club in another county).

Well done to Sean Moran on his motm award but how on gods earth did Con O Callaghan not get it he absolutely destroyed them from start to finish and was by a country mile the best player on the pitch.

And what funding please tell have Cuala gotten from Dublin GAA? Cuala are every bit as much of community as any other GAA club. They were a far better team from the first to final whistle with or without funding. But if saying well done to the opposition is patronising than what shade of begrudgery are yours?

Not at all. Cuala were well worth their win, far better side and I would never begrudge them their success. My point is a more general one in that the neglect of Ulster hurling by BOTH Croke Park AND the Ulster Council has been totally shameful. That it still survives in the North is a miracle in itself. Once again congratulations to Cuala, they are a fine side and I hope they are successful on St. Patrick's Day.
