On account of the wife and part of the blood that runs through my childrens veins I will have to be shouting for the Coveys.

Even though I'm an ardent fish head, I'll be rooting for Westport next weekend. My parents live in Colmcilles territory and my Meath friends will be unbearable if they win. Hon the Port!!!

For such a small rural club this is huge. And while Graham Reilly is the obvious player and those outside Meath would know, this team is so much more than one man, I have never seen such a tight unit , they will give it all, we are underdog , but by Jesus we have some bite.
Come on the cilles"
Small rural Parish?? there must be 20K in the area. Hope the win obviously

Check out a link on AIB's Twitter page. They'll be streaming the games live. The double-header in Ennis a couple of weeks ago was streamed. Mike Finnerty of eir Sport and Sky Sports did the commentary that day. Great work by all.

Replying To waynoI:  "Everyone on here knows I live in Meath, They (Cilles) would be the local club where I live. I wont exactly be broken hearted if they don't, But itd be great if they did, but that's why I want them to win anyway, The fact they are playing a Mayo club makes no odds. Infact Westport losing cause of Lee Keegan or the fact they are a Mayo club didn't even cross my mind until I read tis post. What a strange, and indeed, paranoid world we, or should I say, you, live in though all the same Spoddy!!"
Fair play wayno pride of the parish! Aye that wheel is always grinding lol!

Best of luck to the Cilles this weekend. The biggest housing estate in Drogheda is actually in the Cilles territory. They will be some buzz in the Bull Sunday night if the Cilles win the trophy.

Pat O Neill was one of the huge driving forces behind Gaelic football in the St Colmcilles area for decades. He has served the Cilles in practically every position right up to Club President. Pat is equally well known at county board level and has acted as both minor and senior chairman of the Royal County, He was also Meaths delegate to Central Council for years and amongst a list of achievements was his role in really promoting the Aussie Rules games. To cut a long story short and with Sundays game in mind Pat has strong Mayo connections and is the nephew of former Mayo great Paddy Moclair. Sunday will be a proud day for Pat.

I suppose Keegan and a Mayo team will choke again when it's there to be won.

Said housing estate is full of Dubs and other outsiders though Ollie. I should know, I loved there for five years.

Cilles have a lot of underage teams over in Pilltown, I would have thought? That area has seen a lot of population growth in the past few years.

Gleebo yes there would be some mix of people living in that housing estate. There is some buzz around that area. The population has exploded in the last few years. The Cilles area is Laytown, Bettystown, Mornington, Donnycarney, Pilltown, Beamore and around the Dublin road area of Drogheda. There is five buses alone going from the club.

A bit like Tyrone when they play Mayo in the championship. What is it? One match they beat Mayo out of five matches in championship meetings?

I don't think Keegan has ever choked in an All-Ireland final tbh. Especially not when he rammed home goal of the season in last year's decider. Nor when he got two the best points of the championship season against your crowd either...

Well said Gleebo. He did not get four all stars or player of the year last year for nothing.

So proud of everyone, it just wasn't to be, great heart, Ben Graham jack and every player and management thank you for a fantastic year. You all have done club county and province proud. Congratulations to Westport, Graham gave Keegan a food workout today .
Again well done to all in cilles. You owe us nothing.

Great win for Westport but a magnificent effort also from Graham Reilly and his team mates. The difference between elation and deflation is often very small. The Rock must have 'choked' again though. Don' really mean that, just responding to a poster above. It is hard to lose a final but the Rock and their supporters must be devestated at losing three. Very difficult for a small parish.

I'm delighted for Westport and Lee Keegan - well done lads. The town will be rocking tonight. Only for work in the morning I'd be there.

Hard luck to The Cillies - a great game. Graham Reilly was a tour de force.
