Wexford are going well BUT come championship have they anything left to kick on to as a lot of other counties will be able to do?

Has Davy peaked them too early and their race could be run in a quarter final whereas you look at Tipp and even Waterford and you know they've another few gears to hit come summer time.

Asides Conor McDonald is the real deal and given another few years would be up there with the TJ Reids, the Joe Cannings and the likes.

Yeah, they look extremely fit for this stage of the year. It will be interesting to see how the game against Tipp pans out.

You'd imagine that KK will bring fury and intensity to Wexford park in June.

The media are half heartedly doing a bit to hype up the Tipp Wexford game but I feel both matches aren't really being talked about with the exception maybe of Wexford supporters.
Personally I won't bother putting a bet on as I'm unsure if three of these teams aren't all that bothered about the league. Some noises starting to come out of the Tipp camp about wanting to win the league however I'm not so sure. The team picked will tell a lot. Regardless I think it'll be a close game. My one big criticism of Wexford is their shot selection and accuracy in front of goal. It has been poor for a few years now and they need to increase their conversion rate to win. They will bring a huge intensity but similar to Waterford I feel they hit a lot of wides from far out.

Damien Hayes came out with some fairly silly comments about Galway being way better than Limerick. He may well be proved right but I've seen nothing from Galway yet to say they're streets ahead of any of the other top 10 teams. I've seen very little of Limerick either yet this year however if the bring their A game with lots of passion then they can beat anyone.

For the sake of it, i'll go with Tipp by 2 and Galway by 4!!!

I would predict Tipp by 10 and Galway by 5 and a draw in the final.

Galway by 2, think they have more natural hurlers than us and are probably in the same bracket as Tipp but expect Limerick to put in a big performance, Tipp by 6+, would be very surprised if Wexford got much closer than that.

Tipp by far the most impressive team of the 4 today. Limerick the least by a long way unfortunately. Galway will need to improve by a good 50% to get close to Tipp next week but they have the potential to get to that level.

But where's your logic for winners of 1A and !B playing each other in the final? I'm a bit baffled that 1st against 7th is fair!!"
Does this work better -
NHL SFs are - 1st v 4th or 7th and 2nd v 3rd or 8th
and 5th 6th down, with 7th 8th up.

Top 4 in 1A, top 2 in 1B. Top 2 in 1A into semi, 3/4 play 1/2 in 1B.
That means the Galway Limerick match this year would not have been dead rubber, a quarter final place was at stake.

This is mostly what I have - except 2 up/down - do you go for that too ? For me it makes sense - the 6 in this year's KO are those in Div 1A in the following year.

Yep 2 up 2 down as well for me. I proposed it in another thread before!

Relegating 1/3 of teams in a league is excessive.

Agree - but more than offset by the logic that 6 of the top 8 go to KO and the other two are down

Relegating 2 out of 8 wouldn't be as bad as 2 out of 6, that's for sure. The likes of Limerick would benefit as they can't seem to top division 1b but you'd expect them to finish second.

I see abolutely no reason to change the structures. Even 4th in 1B this year got to play Galway, Limerick, Wexford and Tipperary. Leave it as is.
