Shame on Tipperary supporters

Replying To ROS1:  "Galway dont really have a great football support."
Galway have a small but really hardcore fanatical football support. Galway is different than most counties and even different to other dual counties where both codes are on par but hurling captures the marginal support much easier given it is a more attractive game to the non ultras. Also Galway like most counties have a multiplier fan base if the team is going well. Still easier for fans if they have only one coode to follow.

Ok, why are Tipp getting to AI semi-finals in Football, and Monaghan aren't competing at the top levels in hurling?
Which is more important - a county facilitating both games so they can compete at the top level at both codes, or attendances at 1st round Division 3 league matches in the 1st week of February?

I don't think Killarney.87's point is ridiculous at all. But if attendances by county per code is that important, if you look at the attendances throughout the league in both codes, for all counties, which code is better supported?
I'd be all for both codes being as competitive and well supported as each other, but it would be most counties attitude towards hurling that would have to improve for that, not football. When those counties hurlers are getting to AI semi-finals, we can talk about Tipp footballer's 1st round league attendances.

Thanks Marlon.

My honest views on this are it's nobody else's business how much support we give our teams in Tipp.

The Cavan and Monaghan supporters here get very defensive when I ask about the state of hurling in their counties.

Hurling followers constantly get accused of being snobs when it's very plain to see that it's the football counties that are behaving in that manner here.

I find this to be a random and uncalled for attack on Tipperary GAA.

We have one of the best supported GAA teams in the country. I was at our last Munster league game in sixmilebridge against Clare two years and the ground was packed to the rafters. The attendance was 1,300 or 1,400 and a massive Tipp crowd was there.

So the big revelation is Tipp people prefer hurling the same way Monaghan and Cavan people prefer Gaelic Football.

I think Tipp winning the hurling put the footballers in the shade despite what was a great year for them..Tipp done very well getting to semi-final...beating Derry and ????..to get there ..there in lies the problem..beating Derry was their stand out game..and no disrespect to Derry they are kicking boys in the qualifiers at some stage every year of late..the back door is grand and all..Fermanagh got a great run a few years ago too but did it really do anything for the future of football in the county..where are they now..what division?..this is all very well fairy tale stuff but in reality these teams will get so far and thats it..these teams would trade an All Ireland semi final spot for a provincial title in the morning...of that there is no doubt in my view..the facts remain Kerry beat Tipp convincingly in the Munster final (forget black cards should and should nots) Mayo beat Tipp then in semi and Mayo lost All Ireland so Tipp were not like "nearly" all Ireland champions or anything...no more than Offaly...winning a provincial title is more realistic (as outside as that sounds) than winning the All Ireland through the qualifiers..and most counties are the same..only the bigger counties will have a chance of that..and at that its always just a chance...they never do...

Tipps standout game was beating galway convincingly in every aspect of the game in the ai 1/4 final, we beat Waterford, Cork, Derry, galway and lost to Kerry and mayo. The previous year it was Tyrone and Kerry who beat us in the championship, two years in a beaten only by team who reached the semi finals that year. Fermanagh are in their 2nd year in division 2 and hammered down last week, they are on an upward kerb.
