I see a lad from Lucan called Herkus Sviglinskas Damo on the 17's hurling team what's his background? Is your lad a sub I don't see him on the starting 15? clondalkindub (Dublin) - Posts: 9926 - 19/05/2017 15:15:26 1988375 Link 10 |
believe it or believe it not Hercus and my lad vie for same position, he a good player my lad a sub for Saturday , my fella a bit of a victim of his own success in that recently hes been a sub for both football and hurling , regards the hurling no complaints defence are very strong tough 6 to break into , theres a lad Kinsella from Crokes Scully from Plunketts both unlucky not to be starting smashing players Hercus is as Dub as they come despite the name obvious ethnic background , 8 of the minor team playing under 17 tomorrow if only they had another year at minor next year its tragic Damothedub (Dublin) - Posts: 5193 - 19/05/2017 15:31:39 1988383 Link 10 |

Some win for the minors alright Big wins like that can sometimes have a negative influence next day out, semi-final up next! Be great to see the minors get out of Leinster as champs this year and give it a good go. jimbodub (Dublin) - Posts: 20600 - 20/05/2017 19:09:41 1988611 Link 6 |
Some serious footballers , I know it was a shi7 day as I did umpire in the pi77s of rain for the under 17s game , just wish to god people would come out and support them , thousands will make there way to portlaoise ????? for a €10 there was a double bill in Parnell Park , anyway rant over minor very hard to judge as was the display v Longford as it was so one-sided

Poor showing last night , at least they tried to rally in the second half , ultimately better team won , thought game was marred by a lot of cynical play from both teams , Dublin lads and I know they are young seemed content to try to out muscle Kilkenny at every opportunity but forgot to hurl, poor decision making and too slow to release the ball into the forwards One down two to go in the Hurling , hears hopping 17 minors can do the Biz Damothedub (Dublin) - Posts: 5193 - 01/06/2017 10:45:25 1992937 Link 9 |
I was very disappointed with the U21s v KK, a lifeless performance. Don't get me wrong I know there are serious hurlers on that team, but they played like individuals not a team. Slack marking caused by this ridiculous notion that in the modern hurling game you can protect "space" with numbers, crowd the midfield for puck outs etc etc. The dynamics of the game still hold true a deadly catch and strike can floor your protective screens and flatten your best laid plans. Where I buy into the modern game, the fast breaking play, players running off the shoulders making diagonal runs I saw none of that the other night. Each player seemed to be admiring their own strike rather than looking for the free man or the better oprtion. It was poor, second to the ball every Dublin player attempting to lift ball was slow and ponderous and brought a KK player onto them. But when they realised time was running out they made a fist of it - too late and damn disappointing to watch, the attitude individually and collectively was very poor.
