Louth were the bookies favs to go down. At the start of the campaign they were 16/1 to win the Division 3 title. So far so good for the Wee County this year. They have played eight matches this year and have won seven. The only match that they have lost was to the Dubs in the O Byrne Cup Final. Louth's next two matches are at home to Antrim and Armagh.

I dont know what Tipp wining the hurling all ireland last year has to do with Laois loosing to there footballers on Saterday night? The only footballer of note that came out of Tipp was the guy Michael Brown as far as I know.
To turn tings around in Laois we need mangers with a track record. Why can we not atract mangers of the kind of McGinnis the Donegal guy or even that Jim Gavin up in Dublin? The last good manger we had was Micko and look what he did. We are a sleeping giant but we need leadership."
Sleeping giant??
More like Rip Van Winkle. Tipp had 5 players nominated for Football All Stars last year and two players nominated for young player of the year. Tipp are a formidable football team and will probably remain near the top table of football for some time yet.

I'm beginning to think this is a wind up!!! Sleeping giant haha. You do realise tipp won 4 all irelands, laois haven't won any, we have won more munster football titles than ye have in leinster.....just because we are good at hurling people should be embarrassed to lose to us!!!

(I'm not having a pop at laois here, just some of these comments getting thrown out here are mad)

I know it's cringeworthy stuff. We hammered them in Portlaoise in 2014 in the qualifiers and beat them a couple of years before that in the qualifiers too. There is this air of arrogance that we are better than Tipp.

There is so much resentment to Tipp football. It's mad stuff altogether.

Wrong Ollie, Antrim were the bookies favourite to go down, then Sligo and Louth were pretty much joint 2nd fav (depending on the bookie)

Muscles you are correct and right. Typo on my behalf. I meant to say one of the favs to go down. At the start of the campaign Antrim were 20/1 to win Div 3 and next in line were Louth and Sligo at 16/1 to win it. After Louth beat Laois in the first match, the Wee County Odds slashed from 16/1 to 6/1.

at this stage it looks like are odds on to go up, but what a dog fight the rest of the div is, 1 and 2 are tight to but is the hardest to call right now, in what is a great league overall, as expected the div 4 final is known with 3 games to go

Louth next 3 games are Armagh, tipp and Sligo, still anyone from 4 and I wouldn't like to pick 1 I'd fancy never mind 2

I doubt it ollie, 2 games at home v Laois and Longford should decide that, they should get nothing in the athletic grounds

Congrats to Louth on back to back promotion. We can't have any complaints losing two home games in the division this year.

Hopefully we will give it socks to Armagh next week.

Offaly have eventually started to play somewhat..scoring goals as well which is important..2 against Tipp and 2 against Sligo..Laois will be hard beat for offaly to stay up..offaly have a bit of momentum now.....delighted for Louth in fairness, they set the pace early on and deserve to go up....

Cant understand how the GAA puts a clare ref down for Armagh v Tipp its madness. Armagh v sligo there was a roscommon ref which give away that bizarre penalty at the last couple of seconds which could come back to haunt us dearly really hope there is no favoritism showing

Armagh had a Meath referee for this fixture in Armagh two years ago. I'd gladly take an Ulster referee if the game was in Thurles.

Lol I would just rather a neutral ref surely it cant be that hard. I know clare and tipp dont really get on overally but i think its just madness making a clare ref travel up the country either when someone in leinster could do it. Ahh i think it will be a very close game and small margins will decide it.. why couldnt yous have beat louth an it could have been a good oul kick about between the pair of us

Yeah our league form has been erratic to say the least. We had our strongest available 15 out against Louth. Hannigan being suspended was a massive blow.

Yea thats what I am worried about. Hopefully we dont take it for granted we seem to play worse in the AG than anywhere else if its not going right for us the crowd get on the players and forces them into mistakes. I honestly thought tipp would have beat louth an we would both go up. If Armagh can play as well as the louth game hopefully we can kick on and secure the promotion but I wouldnt be one bit surprised if we missed out

I still can't believe we are in Div 2 with a game to spare. Things have worked out well, we were able to carry the momentum of the O'Byrne cup into the early rounds and get a few points on the board. It was a funny division, I didn't expect Laois to be that bad but they went to Armagh and won. I think it will be ourselves and Armagh. Offaly and Antrim to go down!
