Replying To Brolly:  "Must be immense - can't be easy with next game away to Lonford, he'll prob need to put out near enough champ side to win this and give his team a little breathing space."
indeed,wonder what Armagh fans think..

Replying To OffalyBigBall:  "Muscles, there's plenty of football to be played yet.
Personally, I don't think Offaly will be relegated myself. I would add them to your list of 6 evenly matched teams.
I'd also be surprised to find Louth or Sligo occupying either of the top 2 places by the end of 7 matches."
Think the head to heads will be the difference to see who gets relegated but with so many permutations and who the actual teams would be fighting relegation hard to know which will be deciding but Longford's win over Offaly gives them a small advantage over Offaly hence why I predict Offaly

Yeah I would agree on neither Louth and Sligo being in top 2 at end. I think Tipp and Laois could come good...really don't think Armagh are up to much

Doubt we will be close to championship side next time out.

Still without - Morrison (current goalkeeper is killing us) McKeever, Donaghy, Morgan, McElroy, , Dyas, Murnin, among others.
Jamie Clarke might be the only one ready to come into the starting team, back in full training and has made sub appearances in the last 2 games.

I've no faith in McGeeney whatsoever.
He has chosen a captain who lets us down with red cards regularly which is baffling.

I know we are playing with a young side at the minute until the lads are back but we seem to be a brainless side. 2 games running we have been 4/5 points up and haven't seen the game out. We have also give away penalties 2 games running late on. I wasn't at the sligo game and I hear the decision was harsh, but for goodness sake foul outside the area at that stage if you have to. Last kick of the game like.

Just wondering how supporters in Division 3 would feel if the league was the championship? Any thoughts? It's just that we have 8 fairly even teams. It would be nice to have these games in spring / summer.

Hey guys
just wondering was anyone at the match on Saturday in O Moor Park? Personly I saw it as a dark night for Laois football. No plan, no ideas. Palyers not wanting to paly. To loose to Tipp was the last straw for me as a hurling county. I hear about grumblings in the camp. Any truth in this? I know Peter Creefon is doing his best but bottom of Division 3 is not good enuf. As for your man the guy McGeehin who is training our boys. Is he not a hurling guy? We need guys there with a deep background in football if our guys are to survive the drop.

Replying To Richieq:  "Laois should go up and Armagh should be there or there abouts with Tipp, although I don't think Armagh are great either, outside shot to Offaly who I would love to see progress."
Offaly wont be going anywhere this year either I am afraid....terrible scoring returns in most games (0-23 against Antrim fair enough) but 3-15 would have been a more convincing win if you know what I mean..I havent looked at the stats..Nigel Dunne and Bernard Allen top scorers(0-11 between them) agains Louth yesterday in Tullamore..how many of their scores were from frees I wonder...most Ide say...that leave 3 points for the remaing players..not good enough by a long shot..we needed a goal yesterday and as usual no one to get it.have we even scored on so far in this league?..Louth and Tipp I think will be in Div 3 final..maybe Armagh/Westmeath who WILL beat Offaly I fear...

Replying To OLLIE:  "It looks like a three horse race between Tipp, Laois and Armagh for the the top two spots for promotion to Division 2. My own county will do very well to stay up.

Final: Armagh v Laois
Winners: Armagh
Relegated: Antrim and Sligo"
done a quick count of Offaly scoring...in 3 games we score 0-46 (0-23 or half against Antrim)..0-10 V Longford...0-14 V Louth..conceded 4-32 in 3 games...taking away the Antrim game we average 0-11/-12 per game..no where near the standard required...ps 0-09 from frees v Louth..5 points from play..not good enough...

Was at the game and would be a lot more optimistic than you. Missing the likes of timmons lillis meaney quigley walsh o carroll ,and o loughlin and dillon just regaining fitness. Still might have won but for some bad wides. Tipp are a capable side. Not just a hurling county any more. If we can beat sligo sunday we are still in with a promotion shot. Tight group. Clare lost 3 games last year and still won promotion

What a ridiculous statement claiming losing to tipp was the last straw, would losing to Cork or galway be the last straw because they are "hurling counties". Obviously haven't paid the slightest bit of attention to anything we've achieved in football recently

Hey guys
I cant except some of the coments above. I stand over what I said. Loosing to Tipp not just loosing but loosing by 6 points begs a lot of ansers. It is generly excepted that Tipp is a hurling county. How can a county with a proud football record like ours except defeat so happily. I still think we can turn it around but not with hurling guys training the team. Its not that long ago we were challenging for Sam with Micko. Now we are bottom of Div 3 with countys with no tradition above us. We deserve better from our county board.

What is this proud football record you speak of?? Laois has won more hurling All Irelands than football All Irelands. As for challenging for Sam with Micko, it's now 11 years since Micko left the set up, it's a whole new panel and the simple fact is that the players are not there to compete. It's got nothing to do with the coaching at the minute but the underage structure that was left in the dark ages.

Your comment essentially implies that tradition should dictate what happens in the present. Tipp last year reached the semi final and beat a Galway side that are far ahead of Laois. As for your comment about counties with no tradition being ahead of you in the division, well Louth for example, hammered Laois when we met you in the championship back in 2013, so I think your delusional when it comes to your own sides perceived greatness.

Fair play to the posters who tipped Louth to do well at the beginning of this thread.

It looks like a return to Division 4, unless Offaly can manage to win a couple of games, and score a few goals in the process. Playing one forward alone up front, with no support won't win too many games.

I can't see anything other than an Armagh win on Sunday.

It's ironic but the only poster who tipped Louth for promotion was a Meath one: Royaldunne. Another poster Wayno who is a Dub living in Meath said that he would love to see the Wee County promoted.

If Louth win two of their remaining fixtures they should have enough points to get promoted.

I dont know what Tipp wining the hurling all ireland last year has to do with Laois loosing to there footballers on Saterday night? The only footballer of note that came out of Tipp was the guy Michael Brown as far as I know.
To turn tings around in Laois we need mangers with a track record. Why can we not atract mangers of the kind of McGinnis the Donegal guy or even that Jim Gavin up in Dublin? The last good manger we had was Micko and look what he did. We are a sleeping giant but we need leadership.
