I didn't realise that we had made the same predictions until just now county man. Now if only we could predict tonight's lottery numbers we'd really be on the ball!

We will give Division 3 a rattle. hopefully Laois will be in transition. Armagh will walk this league

We have started the league slow every year for the last number, we couldn't have asked for a better start and need to win these if we are to go up. We were massively off the pace in the mcgrath cup, will need to have a lot of work done between then and now. I honestly don't know where we'll be this year, we could be right up there for promotion or trying to remain division 3 on the last day again. Hard to call between ourselves, Armagh and laois, I also think one of Longford or offaly will be right up there too, either team can be very good or very bad on given years. Looking at the match betting for week one, I know very little about antrim but they look great value against us at 9/2, we have a few injuries, suspension and just minding one or two of the older players for later in the year, also as I said from anything we've seen so far we are a long way off the pace. Hopefully we have the class to get through the opening two games but we have lost to carlow, Waterford, salvaged a draw against limerick all in the last few years in our first couple of games.

We're poor enough.

The one thing we've going for us is we're probably a better league team. We've an ultra defensive system might fluke us a few results.

Moving the game from clonmel to Thurles will definitely suit us, we've a terrible record in clonmel and play our best football in thurles, it also takes an unnecessary half an hour off yer journey down

I'd love to see another team from Dublin. It would be a great experiment for the league. In Queensland here they have City v Country matches. Dublin could be Dublin City v County.

Best Longford squad in a long time. Almost all the best players have committed to the panel this year so will be interesting to see how it goes. Don't they they will win the division but a great bet for promotion.

Think we have a good chance this year but it will be far from easy.
For football to improve in the county, we badly need to get to division 2."
you definitely do. You have the ability as well. This should be your priority for the year.

I was going to tip over the road tomorrow to see our neighbours play Offaly. Would be expecting a close game but I was told they are missing 7or 8 starters for tomorrow? Can any of the Longford Gael confirm this? Might not be worth going to if true cos a County as small as Longford can't afford to be missing that many starters.

Unfortunately it's true from what I hear. Full back Andrew Farrell, centre back Mickey Quinn, midfielder Michael Brady, corner forward Mark Hughes and full forward Brian Kavanagh all injured. Midfielder Darren Gallagher and wing forward Diarmuid Masterson suspended. Don't know what story with wing back Colm Smyth is as he hasn't been around pre season either. Will be a tough ask with all those missing especially in a game we'd be looking to win.

Not that it's any of your business Greengrass but I'm only home for a holiday and I like to visit friends and family when I'm home as I could not see them for another year or even two. So considering Pearse Park is a 15 minute spin for me considering the 2 hour spin to Omagh I said I'd go to that game today and get our game at home to Donegal next week before flying back. I hope you can understand that Greengrass!

Cheers Spinx. No sign of the team been named anywhere so it will be a last minute decision for me.

Great win for Louth last night and to score 2-16 away from home is some achievement. Laois were poor but you can only beat what's in front of you. Louth have won 5 out 6 games this year. A good start to the year.

A bit of contradiction there Oddball. You are telling Greengrass to mind his own business while at the same time you are telling him your life story. You must of slept on the wrong side of the bed last night.

It is none of his business what game I go to but I felt the need to let him know why I made that decision so as he wouldn't be so disappointed in me.
