As far as I knew it was win your 1st two games and have a home semi final now that mightnt be 100% truth but that's what I was told

I personally cannot blame, they have recived no advantages of winning that second game which was a hard fought match

If Carlow was in their position what would you do?

Just check last years semi final draw.

Kildare who had lost their first round drawn at home to Meath who had won both games.

It's nothing new. And it's just down the road in a great venue with an excellent pitch for hurling.

Oh right, I can't remember where I heard that winning the 1st two meant a home semi final but from reading the artical I don't think the problem is being drawn away I think it is the fact it was behind closed doors

I do think though a championship draw should not be held behind closed doors. If any county board done that the clubs would give out so why can it be done at the top

Also have to agree with Kildare, Their championship campaign over within 14 days. Christy ring could be spread out over a longer period of time

Would agree with you about the draw being behind closed doors in general.

So were the first 3 rounds where we drew Antrim in the first game and Kildare
away in the last so we havent exactly been blessed with good draws this year.

Shows how little the GAA think of the Christy Ring cup draw that its not televised
with the provincial draws.

Neither is the Leinster qualifying group drawn shown either. Last year we drew
Kerry and Offaly away in the first 2 matches and were relegated before we even
got a home match.

Yea I do think alot more could be done with the Christy ring and leinster qualifiers such as televising a few of them games.

How do you feel the Christy ring will go?
I'm thinking a Carlow v Antrim final
I was very surprised when down bet London.

Replying To hurlingguru:  ""The Wicklow County Board have sent a letter of objection to Croke Park over the way that the Christy Ring Cup semi-final draw was conducted.

The draw took place behind closed doors last Monday morning and this has irked Wicklow who feel that they should have been allowed to attend the draw.

Wicklow will play Carlow at Netwatch Cullen Park, while Antrim take on Down in the two semi-finals, but Wicklow vice-chairman Martin Fitzgerald told the Wicklow People that it was wrong to hold the draw behind closed doors

"If that happened in Wicklow with Mick Hagan and Bridget Kenny the clubs would go mad. It wouldn't happen in Wicklow. It wouldn't be done," said Fitzgerald.

Wicklow coach Michael Neary added: "I think they (GAA) leave themselves open to criticism. I knew that we would be playing Carlow at some stage but not to invite officials from any of the counties leaves a lack of openness.""
What a crowd of whingers. They have a cheek to talk about correct procedures after their carry on a few years back. Only one way to quieten that lot.

Should be a Carlow Antrim final but Wicklow beat Kildare away and will come prepared.

Antrim and Carlow have played 3 great games this year and have both improved since
the first.

Would be great to have more coverage of Christy ring matches. Last weekend tg4 showed
the ladies div 2 league final rather than a Christy ring match.

The Wicklow boys might end up having a couple of pints after the game.

That's the closest you'll get with your prediction.

Well those Kavanagh brothers are strong players so what did we expect.

I knew we shouldn't have agreed to a half of football.

See you Saturday sponger.

Carlow's only injury is Seamus Murphy with a broken hand. Hopeful to be right for final if we can beat Wicklow. It will be tight.
