Gutted for the lads. By all accounts the set up is going well but Saturday was a real chance missed. Conditions didn't help but that's the way it goes. Antrim had to contend with them too. Fair play to Antrim. They have a good set up this year and seem to be back on track after a few slow years. I still don't think Carlow are anywhere near where we were back in 2010/2011 but slowly improving. 3 weeks is loads of time to prep for Christy Ring. But pressure is on now. We NEED to win Christy Ring to salvage this year.

The slow start killed us. Very similar to the kildare match where we
didnt play for the first half.

Great effort to come back in the second half and with 15 mins left and
a point down we had the momentum but missed a lot of chances.

Think Colm Bonnar will have learned a lot from the match and the performance
of a lot of the subs should the strength of the panel.

Apparently Antrim should always be beating teams like Carlow according to their joint manager !

"'Woody', who was one of the stars of the Antrim side that reached the 1989 All-Ireland final, admitted to the Irish News: "If you asked me 10 or 15 years ago would I be running around here, shaking hands and jumping about, I'd have said 'no'.

"That's no disrespect to Carlow, but everybody thinks you should be beating these teams. It's got to the stage where we are delighted and delighted for the players because they've because they've got a wee bit of payback for the effort they've put in. It's small steps."

Lets see how that works out in 3 weeks time.

Carlow will win the Christy Ring this year ,they'll have learnt a lot from the Antrim game & if hurl to form could blow away the other opponents,I still don't think Antrim are good enough just yet to return to the top series

Match set for 3 on Saturday. Antrim gave Armagh a kicking yesterday but had a half back sent off.

Should be another close game but hopefully a different result.

Think it was only 2 yellows. I'm worried about our full back line ,we need changes there as mc manus and Carson are Antrim's best players.I suppose the fact that it's not knockout gives us options as more than likely we will be meeting them again later in year.

A remarkably quiet build up to this one. A funny kind of game in that we'll most likely need to beat them again anyway win or lose.

Any word on the ground?

We need to win this game if only because of the loss to them last time out, if we lose this one it will get harder next time.

Would someone post the half time and full time scores, of the Carlow/Antrim game if possible, no problem if you can't, but thanks anyway.

That game today should have seen us get through in normal time I feel. We were well ahead and looking good but slipped a few heavy body blows as Antrim kept working that bit harder and edged through to ET. That goal from a 20 metre free brought them back level and they got the rub of the green and got that vital late score to win. No fault on the players who worked very hard all through. The subs made a difference when introduced. We were late bringing in subs and a few starters looked to be flagging from early in the second half. No criticism from me to the backroom staff. A few goal chances just did not come off but credit to all the players who gave of their best. We might meet them again and again it will be close. Denis Murphy was impeccable from frees. Another day out - sooner than planned!

yeah we should have won it ok. Problem imo was sidelines lack of urgency in bringing on subs. Our midfield and half forward was operating on one wing for most of game esp. second half yet no sub was introduced til 55-60 minute. Thought ref let a lot of physical on the edge stuff go and this suited Antrim as they won the physicality stakes handy. If we can't beat them next time (fingers crossed) we don't deserve any trophy. PS. Was james Doyle injured? Otherwise it was a bizarre decision to take him off.
