Sean Murphy has hurled with us this year hasn't he? He's not just with the footballers is he? Is Shane Kavanagh injured? Great win last week, always close with us. Antrim now on Sun, we beat them the last two times. Yes they had a poor year last year but so did we.

Still think that full back line won't cut the mustard.Hope i'm wrong.

Well done to the hurlers on Sunday. Won ugly, but won non the less. Great to see 4 bkillen men start and play well.. More than started last year when our club man was acuused of being biased by certain posters on here for picking his own club men!! But OK this year apparently! Best of luck to the panel and management team who are putting in a big shift and getting their reward. Keep her lit! PS well done to the IT and particularly James and Marty for what is a huge scalp today. I hope they don't settle and continue to push on. A great start to the year especially for mouse with the county captaincy last weekend too.

You're right fergie. I saw him keep Joe Canning scoreless from play a few years back in the Walsh cup. Didn't foul him either. What age is he?

Great game of hurling today with an exciting finish.

Antrim started the better but after we conceded a soft goal we took
control with Jack Kavanagh and the whole half back line very strong.

Seamus Murphy won excellent ball up front and Paul Coady reliable
from frees.

Second half was very stop starty but we were in a strong position until we
fell asleep from a close in free and conceded the second goal. For the next
10 minutes Antrim were very strong and when Richard Coady was sent
off we looked in trouble.

But Marty Kavanagh (brought on with 20 mins to go) and Chris Nolan got
us back into it. We could have nicked it at the end but a draw was fair.

Both teams got standing ovation at the end. Two things struck me at the
end. One is that Antrim are way fitter and younger than the last 4 years and
will be a serious threat in the Ring Cup.

Second our home support needs improving. When we are being outnumbered by
travelling Antrim fans we know we need to get more attending.

One last thing is that Marty Kavanagh looks so sharp at the moment that he is a
joy to watch. We should get more out to see him in action.

Eoin Nolan broke his ankle in January and expected to be out for around 5 months I heard. Played well today in patches. Subs were strong. Antrim much improved on last year and it was a good game to watch. As alluded to already, very sad that Antrim had more supporters than a Carlow side that has won it's last 4 or 5 games. David English and Bennett very good in backs. Would have James Doyle midfield.

Has anybody read motion 3 for congress this weekend? My interpretation is that there is an admin amendment to be simply ratified, whereby this years Christy Ring winners will automatically qualify to play one of the beaten quarter finalists in this years Leinster championship.

This will be structured, so that their opponents will be one of the two qualifying counties from the round robin, unless both of these teams qualify for the actual semi finals, in which case there will be a draw between the other two beaten quarter finalists. If both qualifiers from the round robin are the beaten quarter finalists, I presume the Christy Ring winners play the team that finished 2nd in the actual round robin qualifier group.

The winners of this years Christy Ring will additionally be promoted to next years Leinster round robin.

The stakes for winning this competition are thus huge with immediate participation in this years Liam McCarty cup.

Do people concur with the foregoing or have I missed something critical?

Reading the full official text again, the match against one of the beaten Leinster quarter finalists is described as a 'preliminary qualification round' match, with the winners joining the rest of the beaten teams in the qualifies.

So re-entry to this years championship via the qualifiers, but not the latter rounds of Leinster.

A serious incentive for winning the Christy Ring nonetheless.

Passed but with a chia he it would seem meaning it won't apply until next year! Promotion back up the only incentive for winning this year it seems.

Ye i was sure it was entry for this year but none the less, our goal is still the same. To win the Christy Ring cup on June 10th in Croke Park & get back into Leinster for next year.

When did they slip that bit in. It was originally supposed to be from this year. The principle first got passed last year following a technically flawed Antrim motion. So long as the supper 8 got passed, that's all that matters... Get your Sky subscriptions now lads if you want to watch those.

Wonder who dictates the order of these motions. Ours and Laois' didn't even get a chance to get debated. Democracy a la Trump style.

I won't be sorry to see the back of the current administration.

Hard luck to the IT today. The extra time from yesterday has to have taken its toll.
