Eric is very close to the starting 15 for Dublin. Anyone better than him starts for Dublin."
It would appear he is better Tha him, and Politics, plus been half Meath made him opt for the royal. Good luck to him. He will have a fight on his hands to reach final panel. He is not taking anyone's place, as like the other 50 odd player's he has to prove himself to Andy who as mdm called the GREATEST MANAGER he HAS played for. Also the u21s havent even been looked at yet. At least half those trying out wont make panel. Great competition for places, who could ask for more at this start, under the magnificent McEntee

Stuart got a run in the O'Byrne Cup a few years ago but did he ever do anything after that?

He's 6 years older than his brother as well so you'd probably be expecting him to be at his peak as well, be interesting to see how he gets on all the same.

we also had a strong debate on the Dublin page when the guy from Tyrone got on the football panel for the league back in 2013.
for me I just don't like it or agree with it in circumstances like these which the two dubs joining up with Meath or our hurlers ways. It's completely different if you take paddy mcbrearty though who was born in dublin and lived here till 10 years old and then moved to Donegal i don't think you could argue with him playing for Donegal as he was still a kid when he moved. But I personally couldn't do it if I was living in an other county and got invited into their panel as I'm born and rared a dub. Id rather be a dublin supporter than play for some other county just because i would happen to live there now."
i dont know, Donegal to Dublin would be a hell of a commute several nights a week. where would you get the time for all that?

Lowndes is not at his brother's level.

If he was he'd had played for Dublin more than an O'Byrne Cup appearance.

If he ends up getting a start for Meath in the Championship I'd be absolutely shocked. It would mean that Meath football has fallen to an even lower place than we all previously thought.

If McEntee needs Lowndes to start it won't matter that he is the greatest manager of all time according to one player as his task will be insurmountable.

I didn't realise he was that old.

In anyways I'd say there's very little chance of him getting a game for Meath come summer

Replying To royaldunne:  "Well you know very little about Meath people, generally couldn't care less, this is a master atroke by Andy, Joe will never play competitively in goal for Meath, Joe knows this too, however his experience and others like him have been sadly missing in Meath dressing rooms of past.
I'll give you a quote from Michael Dara McCauley, "Andy McEntee is the best manager I have played for".
Now when we want advice on hurling we will give you a shout, however. until then......"
How you can call someones decision a masterstroke before their decision has any impact positively or negatively is beyond me.

Meath are clearly one of the favourites for Leinster this year.

I didn't say he should play for Dublin read again. I said his circumstances are clearly legitimate as he moved to Donegal as a kid still so he's not the same as the two guys playing for Meath or guys with our hurlers.

First off happy Christmas to you,
Its already got dubs looking at Meath, rile them if you like, so already that's a master stroke. As has been said he probably won't make panel, but its the publicity, same with Joe, its like what the hell is Andy doing, what's this guy upto? And trying to second guess a man like that when they your opponent? Well!!!

Ireland Soccer team has been taking England rejects for years and everyone rushes down the pub to support them. Also connacht rugby has taking so called lesser players from other teams and won a Pro 12 last year with aid of good manager. Not one bit concerned can't wait for 2017 to start. Bring it on.

Was that specifically an anti-soccer post or are you having a little dig at the diaspora as well?

I don't know anything about this lad but I would imagine that there are a lot of Footballers playing at senior and intermediate level who could make good county players if given the opportunity and an extended run at county level

No. its not meant to be a anti-soccer or diaspora. Just pointing out that some people will support so called second rate players when it suits them. Also so called with second rate players in connacht rugby did pretty well the past few years. With a excellent manager. And Andy MC Antee has proven he is a excellent club manager. And all the qualities to top rate inter county manager.
