Replying To KingdomBoy1:  "Connolly is in no position to be calling other people clowns IMO ."

I know what you mean curlew there are times when joe is ripping in to Kerry and I get disenchanted but like another poster said on here , we mightend allways want to hear it but in fairness joe is right more times than he's wrong and Dermot shouldn't be calling an educated man like brolly a clown IMO.

I know what you're saying clon , in fairness gally had no right to do what he did to paddy Russell and he admitted that in his book.
But he served his 3 months suspension and we lost the allireland to Tyrone and he moved on to redeem him self in 09 and win the player of the year.
What a legend Paul Galvin was.

Joe's unselfish gesture in donating a kidney has to be lauded as a great act.
I think he is an entertaining guy but equally he lets himself down a bit when he comes out with the remarks about Morrisey and Mc Manus.
Connolly is a gifted footballer who will always divide opinion so perhaps they are similar individuals in ways.I know I'd prefer we had both than not at all.

So you don't think he was "acting like a spoilt child" in that situation?

Yeah, tend to agree with you although some highly educated people can be clowns on some issues. JB has some good characteristics but I never bought into Brolly's attention seeking/self publicist agenda .. Paul Kimmage got it right when having spent a day with him he concluded that he preferred getting abuse instead of being ignored walking towards Croker...says it all really.
I wouldn't agree with all of his article on the Flag/Anthem last Sunday but it was to be expected with his strong republican background .. so no surprises there.

Ya you can tell he loves a bit of conflict,
But at the end of the day like another poster said above I'd rather have him in the GAA than not have him there.

so it would be alright to call an uneducated (whatever that actually means) man a 'clown'? Mmm!

What has education got to do with anything. You've already said Connolly is no genius, what's that based on?

Yet you believe Brolly is right most of the time which is bizarre when he contradicts himself on a regular basis and should be exempt from being called a clown because he has had the privilege of a Trinity education??

People have been on here saying the likes of brolly shouldn't be regulated etc free speech etc etc yet Connolly shouldn't be be entitled to an opinion on Brolly becaus brolly is more educated than him?

The funny thing is Connoly didn't even mention Brolly by name yet people heard the words clown in an rte studio and automatically went to the name of Brolly! That in itself says it all for me.

The thing is the vast majority of people don't have an issue with joes observations on the GAA and games etc, it's his inability to get those points across without attacking something or someone along with personal attacks where people take issue. The fact that he is incapable of making a point or writing an article without attacking someone or something actually reflects very badly on a highly educated man.

Yes, I agree tearintom .. he has a talent for reducing his best points down to a personal level .. The story then becomes all about Joe, which is probably the objective in the first place !

This boy comes from the 2nd most successful senior hurling club in Dublin behind the Faughs & the most successful minor hurling club in the history of Dublin & to add to all that his family are Kilkenny hurling family through & through,it's a pity he doesn't dedicate more time to hurling ,from what I hear he's quite good
