Replying To keeper7:  "Just looked at the Munster squads announced for this. The players obviously still want it as there's a host of great players on both (particularly the hurling squad). I've no doubt the series would rise again given the right platform."
Make it a big charity event.

The Ken McGrath fundraiser packed Walsh park for a Leinster v Munster game few years ago, http://www.independent.ie/irish-news/hurling-stars-turn-out-to-celebrate-ken-mcgrath-30390925.html

good idea they used to be on patricks day years ago - maybe look at playing them abroad - e.g. wembley (used to play gaa games there too)

I see neither Donegal or Monaghan are represented on the Ulster panel, that shows you how important it is.

Are these games being shown on tv?

Donegal's players have all been given a break - they're playing the u21s in the McKenna cup.

McManus is the only Monaghan player who'd improve the panel and obviously wasn't available.

I would probably say that there is about a good 6/8 monaghan players that would esaily improve the squad. A sly dig there

Anyone have a link as to what the Leinster football squad is?

Would be a little concerned with the 3 Meath players. Shane is not long back from serious hip problems , and while the extra games should benefit him I just hope he comes through it fine, grahams inclusion is surprising with his cilles duties since he probably wont be available for league, Donal is not surprising but just hipe he doesn't pick up any knock

As you say Keeper7, the players want it and that for an amature sport is surely reason enough to retain them. The cost of hosting them is diminutive. Can never understand this guff and spouting of 'shut them down'. One of the best (if not the best) games of hurling I ever saw was between Connacht and Munster in Thurles in the late 90's.

As for the lad who sees a north south game as an international. Get real. You're an embarrassment. Cringeworthy.

Was there a sponsor this year? I see Leinster had Barrettstown on the front of their jerseys but Connacht's were blank. I know M. Donnelly sponsored it in recent years.

Having seen the immense and thankless support he has given to Meath hurling+camogie over the years through thick and thin, I think if Martin Donnelly gives up on something, it really must be a lost cause.

Less than 100 people at the Connacht-Leinster hurling semi-final - clearly nobody cares. Put this lame excuse of a competition out of its misery for the love of God!

Wow, so much anger just because a couple of matches took place that hardly anyone bothered to attend.

It's not anger. It is absolute incredulity at the GAA's insistence in cramming this pointless and unwanted competition into an already over-crowded fixture schedule year after year.

As was said above, it's not anger. It's just exasperating to see the rubbish spouted about how the GAA should spare no effort and expense in "saving" the InterPros. They're a product of a different era, have been dying since the 60s and have absolutely no viability in the modern day. I've yet to see a convincing reason why they should be resurrected. 1 day Inter county tournaments and challenge games at agricultural fairs used to be a big thing too, should we complain about those dying out too?

I don't mind the InterPros being played in general. But they belong as an end of season curiosity (though it's pretty obvious very few people are curious about it) rather than cramming them into the regular calendar which is already bursting with fixtures between club and county.

62 people attended the game in Thurles today, and less than 100 paid into Nenagh yesterday. Time to consign the inter pros to history.

No point wrapping players up in cotton wool. They could just as easily get injured in training or going for a run. It is a privilege to be selected..... Go out and play the game and if you get injured so be it. Happens to players in every single county-just have to get on with it.
