All ireland semi final Derry vs Dublin 1993, winning point from the unlikeliest source Johnny Mc Gurk.

DJ's point vs Clare 2002 final, iconic.

Trevor Giles' penalty vs Mayo in the 1996 Replay was the best GAA penalty I've seen.

Diarmuid O'Sullivan's point against Limerick where he nearly killed a Limerick man with a shoulder and drove it over the bar from well inside his own half is the best hurling point I've seen.

From my own county I think Heslin's goal last year to break the Meath hoodoo will live long in the memory.

Replying To gotmilk:  "3.) Barry Owens goal vs Derry in usfc semi final 2008. Fermanagh didn't look like winning the game until he got that goal and when he did the whole place went mental.

2.) Shaun Docs point vs Armagh in 2008 ulster final. Near enough last kick of the game. Fermanagh had been well down and came back from the dead to get a draw. I was right behind the goals he took the shot into as well. Great point and the whole of Fermanagh were convinced we could win the replay.

1.) Tom Brewsters point in 2004 vs Armagh. I don't think I can do it justice quite like the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AXI2tCLQQYc

An honourable mention for Sean Quigleys goal vs the dubs in 2015."
Is that the 'goal' he scored when he pushed cluxton across the line?

Replying To RoyalBadger:  "1) Kevin Foley goal v Dublin 1991. The goal that ultimately brought an end to the 4 in row saga. A goal started from our own line and meticulously worked up to the field where Foley shocked a nation and made Ger Cannings voice squeaky. Silenced the Hill.

2) Brendan Reilly point V Mayo 1996. Easily overlooked as Tommy Dowds goal came just before Reillys point from a difficult angle under the Cusack Stand to put Meaths nose in front and ultimately won us the All Ireland. Helped secure a third All Ireland and legendary status for Sean Boylan. Would begin the hilarious cycle of Mayo misery.

3) Joe Sheridan goal V Louth 2010. Sheridan secured possession near the goal and despite being fouled he composed himself on the ground to clinically find the net and give Meath a deserved and dramatic 2 point win. In doing so secured Meaths status as kings of the North East. Highlighted security inadequacies in Croke Park."
Hilarious! Lol! Begin! That cycle began when Mayo spanked Meath in 1951 with Tommy Langans iconic goal starting the rout! Nothing more hilarious than the state of Meath football is today! Andy McEntee this Andy McEntee that!

Replying To JoeSoap:  "I'd agree with those 3 Lockjaw although a few contenders:

1. Brick Molloy's goal v Tyrone in 2011
Tyrone going for 4 titles in 5 years, new pretenders under McGuinness, first real acid test of his team and with all respect to Derry, I think we felt this was our Ulster Final. The way he finished it considering the scoreline at the time was something else, took a lot of balls to do it the way he did and I remember thinking we were onto something special here

2. Adrian Sweeney v Dublin, 2002
Picked up the ball out near the sideline on the 45 and proceeded to solo all the way to fisting a point in front of the Hill. I'll never forget his celebration! Pity we fell apart in the replay

3. Ryan McHugh v Dublin, 2014
After weathering an incredible storm from the Dubs, we hit them with a great goal on the stroke of half time. This was when you knew it was on.

I'm too young to remember the older days but my Dad tells me about Martin McHugh sticking a huge free against Cavan in the drawn match in '92 as well."
Yeah Brick's goal was a pivotal one given the years of supremacy Tyrone enjoyed over us. It was almost like a passing of the guard. I just hope something similar hasn't happened with Peter Harte's point last summer!

We must be remembering two different goals. I don't remember any push

Peter Canavan goal vs Kerry 2005, beautifully slotted away by an iconic player. Who started, came off and then got brought back in for the end.

Interesting thread. From a Dublin point of view these would be mine

- Kev Mc goal v Kerry in 2013. A roller coaster of a match decided with this goal. Draw game and Cluxton's kick out is falling between not one, not two but three Kerrymen. It looks for certain that Kerry are going to win possession until MDMA throws himself, torpedo like, between them and somehow manages to both break the ball and win that break to flick the ball to Kev Mc. Memories of 2011 seem to flood back into Kerry minds as Kev heads for goal and the inevitable outcome.

- Kev Mc goal v Kerry in 2011. The goal that literally shook the Northside. My wife claims that two cups fell off the coffee table when Kev's goal went in. Kerry had just taken a stranglehold on the game and looked like they had it wrapped up until Kev popped up. Suddenly we were back in the game and the tide was going to turn.

-Alan Brogan point v Kerry in 2015. It'll always stick in my mind. Kerry are three down and create a goal chance that they fluff. James McCarthy flicks a handpass out to the veteran Alan who has just entered the field. He takes off well behind his own 45. A couple of dummys and a lovely one two with his brother later and he's heading towards the hill. A little hesitation before a striking the ball beautifully with his weak foot in the lashings of rain straight over the black spot. Game won and a lovely post script to Alan Brogan's Dublin career.

- Stephen Cluxton point v Kerry in 2011. Sixteen years since the last All-Ireland. It's the last kick of the game, against the most successful team in the country, into the Hill by a player already a cult hero, he's the goalkeeper. There will never be a moment as glorious as that one again.

Two of the best scores ever in Croke Park 1. Padraig Brogans goal for Mayo against Dublin, 2. Ciaran Mcdonalds point against Dublin again a few years ago.

Unreal how majority of posters favourite scores are against Dublin, were they that great a score or is it just cause it was against Dublin ?

In an unbias way I think the most iconic scores are - not necessarily the best

1) Kevin Foley goal in 91 for Meath v Dublin in the 4 game saga
2) Maurice Fitz line ball to draw the 1/4 final in 01 against the Dubs
3) Cluxton match winning free for Dubs v Kerry in 2011

Hurling
1) Ciaran Carey winner for Limerick v Clare 96 Munster Final
2) Taffe goal for Clare v Offaly in 95 final
3) Paul Flynn goal from a free in 2001 or 02 Munster hurling final for Waterford v Cork

Kerry v Armagh, All Ireland Q-final 2006: Galvin kicks to Sean O'Sullivan who tears up the field floating in a high cross to the edge of the square where Donaghy rises like a Phoenix and leaves the great Francie Bellew biting the bitter dust as the Armagh net is rocked. A Star is truly born and Kerry go on to become the greatest team of the 2000's calming 4 All-Irelands titles in six consecutively contested finals.

When Dublin do that, they can talk ;D

Well without question the two most iconic scores is Seamus Darby v Kerry goal, which ended the 5 in a row, and of course
Kevin Foley goal v Dublin which brought a end to the 4 game saga. Everything else pales into insignificance when you realise the enormity of both these occasions. Were they the best scores ever scored? No, but were they the most iconic? And will they stand the test of time? Absolutely .
