Just for posters who mightn't know what were talking about.

2 years ago in our first national league game of 2015 away to Cork when the game was in the melting pot near the end Jim Gavin brought on Brian Fenton Conor Mchugh and I think John Small , well we went on to lose the game and our hill16man went mad after the management saying he wouldn't attend any more Dublin matches if Jim brings on young inexperienced players ha.

Lies man you need to tell the truth id your going to be like that.
I stated Gavin cost us the match by putting on 5 inexperienced young guys for 5 of our best performers in the game that day all with about 15 minutes to go and Dublin leading by three points only. Cork dominated the last fifteen minutes and won the game.I said It was a bad call when you have seven league games minimum there's non need to throw all the new guys in for game time at the same time and Gavin has since learned from that day and has not done anything like that since. There was a huge travelling dublin support there that day that well outnumbered cork possibly 3 to 1 and we haven't beaten cork on leeside for a long time and that game was there to be won and it felt like Gavin didn't really appreciate the amount who travelled down by throwing in too many inexperienced players all at once when the game was still there to be won that's why I said if that was his attitude to the league that year I would have to think about travelling to the rest of the away fixtures in that campaign. As history will tell you I was in killarney for the next away game anyway and since Gavin has learned from mistakes so yeah clondalkin bit of facts not just your theorys might be better in your post

I cannot wait for these two semi finals this Saturday, what's posters thoughts ?

Vincent's for me in the first game but that's no guarantee slaughtneil are a well seasoned team now and I wouldn't be shocked if they won.

I can't call the second game , two great sides can't say whose better , both have great forward lines so it should make for a high scoring game if the weather holds up, anyway as I said what's posters thoughts?

If I had to make a prediction I'd say their would be wins for Vincents & Corofin but don't think there will be too much in either game and wouldn't be surprised if both lost.

I'm looking forward to both games, should be two good contests.

First time in a while any of the 4 could win it but Slaughtneil would be the least likely despite the fact they won Ulster probably the most difficult.
Corifin are favorites but at the end of the day they are Galway champions and more fancied than the winners of the Dublin & Kerry championships arguably the most competitive championships in the country ..the way Ballyboden won the All Ireland last year shows the strengths of Dublin champions and Crokes obviously have cooper, buckley, o leary, Fitzgerald etc etc....Corofin will be great champions if they beat crokes & perhaps Vincents in final, I think they wont though.

A day of top quality football this Saturday. Hopefully the weather is decent and these sides can do themselves justice. I've a feeling it could be a repeat of the 2015 final.

Two great games in the offing with arguably the best four semi finalists of resent times.
Vincents v slaughneil.
This could turn into a dour and intriguing battle. Vincents won't change the model that has served them well. For Slaughneil it will be all about them getting their match ups right. Will chrissy do battle with connolly? In the tight games this year Vincents midfield has given them the platform to win down the stretch but I do think slaughneil have the weaponry to challenge them here. Interesting game, looking forward to it.
Crokes v corofin.
Is this potentially the shootout at the OK corral? Crokes cannot seem to win the really tight games. For this to change they will have to get to grips with a very potent Corafin attack and a very underrated midfield. There is definitely questions over both defences and they fact that both team played poor opposition in there provential finals may have left this area unexposed. Potentially a high scoring entertaining game.
For me it will be a Slaughneil Corafin final.

admittedly, I only saw the last 15 minutes of Slaughtneil v Vincents, but is drag downs, neck high 'tackles' and elbows to the face all that Vincents have to offer? If an Ulster team had been as cynical as that, there'd be some chat about it. And so much for Diarmuid Connolly, marked absent yet again in a game where a man of his undoubted talents ought to have been leading by example

I watched last 25 minutes and can only remember Diarmuid Connolly touching the ball on two occassions. He was very well martialled by a tigerish defense.Mossy hit a poor 45 and his late attempt from an awkward free was a poor effort.

No complaints,Slaughtneil fully deserved to win. They took some great scores at the start of second half and they were able to hold onto their lead by eating up the clock with lengthy periods of ball retention.Good luck to them in the final.

Superb result for Slaughtneil against a very good Vincent's team.

People associated with the Derry club will never forget this day as long as they live.

Great win by Slaughneil. The Mayo man, Varley, kept Vincents in the game but they were poor. McKaigue had a fantastic game and completely dominated Connolly.

Fair play to the Crokes, not vintage but they got the job done. Roll on Paddy's day and hopefully Gooch can win this elusive medal.
