He dropped a clanger but they didn't score a goal on him

Lee is having the last laugh? No Connaught or All Ireland medal? Right you are...

David Clarke was in goals for the penalty - Hennelly had just received a black card for taking the man down.

people's overreaction to Bubbles O'Dwyer CURSING!! on RTE seconds after winning an All Ireland. Ron Burgundy put up with less in Anchorman.

Did you not hear that he was voted player of the year by his peers. Would seem to suggest that whatever he was doing all year it wasn't that funny. Now it would be nice if he had an All Ireland as well but there is still time. As for Connacht medals, he can't keep track of them at this stage.

Yeah I did hear. Thanks. Still find it hard to believe he's having the last laugh! Maybe if he had a celtic cross in his back pocket he would be. I think Kilkenny and Fenton are the ones having the last laugh.

Yes I know Dublin won the All Ireland and that Fenton and Kilkenny have all kinds of medals in their back pockets. I don't think I have disputed that, and my sincere apologies if I have as it would have been quite remiss of me. I also agree that both Fenton and Kilkenny are well entitled to permit themselves at least a smile or two in their spare time. The point I was trying to make, badly obviously, was that it was somewhat pointless criticising Lees performances during the year as he was ultimately voted the best player by the very people who should know. As you are I am sure aware, being eligible for the award of player of the year is not dependent on winning that years All Ireland, as Bernard and Peter already proved. So all things being equal I would have thought that, even though he would willingly swap the award for an All Ireland medal, he still is entitled to a short laugh, or if not maybe a rueful smile, in the general direction of his detractors.

The thread on here where there was complaints about Mayo people getting tickets for Hill 16 for the All Ireland final.

The reasons were hilarious:

1. Theyre not on the Hill for all the other game whereas the Dubs are (well obviously!)
2. There are a lot more Dubs people wanting tickets and thats it because Dublin has a bigger population so they should have what they want.
3. The Castlebar stadium is all seater so its obvious then that Mayo people dont have any interest in standing!!!!

The funniest thing about the thread was that these were actually serious points!

Crikey. Not much "fun" in this "funniest moments of the year" thread.

I'd say my funniest moments were down in Nowlan Park where the stadium announcer got every single Dublin substitution wrong in his announcements (and I daresay a few Laois ones too). Either Dublin have two Con O'Callaghans or he came on, was taken off and was brought back on again.

I had to really think about it but 2 things struck me as funny this year:

Gary "Psycho" Walsh from Laois going to twitter after being taken off versus Dublin and giving out about management because he wasn't being picked because he "let a couple of fcuks out of him". About a week later he had to publicly apologise to management for using abusive and threatening language towards them.

Also during Mccarron's time training with Athy he stated in his book that they needed a harder edge to their game. Anyone familar with Athy's players know that the last thing they need is to show even more aggression.
