All Ireland Club Hurling Championship

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

isnt it so ridiculous that the provincial nonsense still prevails at this level?
we end up with far too many lop-sided finals as a result.
the final should be the 2 best teams in the country.or the 2 teams who survive a marathon championship.

Hard to look past Cuala, but the other two matches could go either way.
Cork hurling could do with an injection but Ballyea were relentless in the semi - Ballyea win.
Oulart will have their hands full and although won easy in semi weren't AI material that day - OLG win.

I'll second them results. Although the Munster game will be very close I'd expect. As I said a few weeks ago I strongly fancy Oulart this year and they should be too good for O'Loughlin Gaels

A word of caution to Cuala travelling to Dr Cullen Park. I remember Ballyboden St Endas coming unstuck against Mount Leinster Rangers there not that many years ago.

I agree Oulart are strong and fancy them to win Leinster and possibly the All Ireland. Munster final is 50/50. If TK gets into the game early it could be Ballyea's day.

Oulart remind me of Thurles.Nearly always flatter to deceive once they win their respective county championships. They are not reliable by any means.Sunday could go either way although playing in Wexford Park should do them no harm.

I think winning Leinster last year was a major monkey off Oulart's back & they have never feared Kilkenny opposition.

Yea,club is a great leveller in that regard.Until they get to an All Ire final though,i wont trust Oulart.Same with Thurles.I wouldn't lile to be waiting on a big accumulator on either of them.Best avoided. In saying that,i hope they win on Sunday.

I'll go with Ballyea, Cuala and Oulart but would not be at all surprised if we have extra time in all three games.

Lots of action in the intermediate grade this weekend too:

Saturday 19 November

Munster club IHC final
Lismore (Waterford) v Kilmoyley (Kerry), Mallow, 2pm

Leinster club IHC semi-finals
Bray Emmets (Wicklow) v Celbridge (Kildare), Bray Emmets GAA, 2pm
Kiltale (Meath) v Carrickshock (Kilkenny), Trim, 2pm

Sunday 20 November

Ulster club IHC final
Cloughmills (Antrim) v Eoghan Rua (Derry), Ballymena, 1pm

Connacht champions Ahascragh Fohenagh await in the semi-finals with the Ulster winners playing London champions Robert Emmetts in the quarters next month.

In fairness to Oulart, they really put it up to NaP's in the All-Ireland semifinal.

But still lost.Moral victories are no good for a team that lost so many (was it 4 or 5?) provincial finals. It's time for Oulart to be beating the likes of Na Piarsaigh, not putting it up to them. But whether they are able to is another matter.

"The likes of Na Piarsaigh"??? They won 3 Munsters in 4 years & won the All-Ireland at a canter. Oulart brought them to extra-time!

And still lost! And have lost 4 out of 5 Leinster finals!A very poor 20% success rate in provincial finals.Maybe you think i'm being harsh, but for me anyway,Oulart have flattered to deceive on quite a few occassions.Lets see how they perform on Sunday.

Hon Slaughneil, if they're going to lose to anyone I'd prefer SN!

Any idea what the overlap of players between the football and hurling teams is?

And they will get stuck in the long grass I'd suspect. Can't see them winning it at all from what I have seen
