Who I wonder for Dreadnots ? Wayne McKeever ? Tommy Kirk going going to be entrusted to try Mary's seniors again I hear ? Red2017 (Louth) - Posts: 122 - 31/10/2017 19:30:09 2059364 Link 0 |
McKeevr to Dreads I think. Good manager, has won inter now with 2 different clubs and took O'Connell's to lenister final and Joes to Senior semi's. One very bright young prospect of a manager in Co Louth

Wayne McKeever is a very busy man at the minute. Accorrding to reports he is talking to alot of different clubs. Is he the right man for the Dreadnots? Are the Dreadnots good enough? Their Junior team, which is in Div. 5, hasn't done anything since winning Div. 4b in 2011 and this begs the question. Do they have the strength in depth to win a championship? I personally don't think so.every year I hear them touted as sure winners.because the have a few county lads?? There's a mentality thing there now I think. But I also think they might assure that the next manager gets the financial backing he wants.so I've heard.money talks ad they say....

GAAdundalk yes I am very guilty of that. The last two years I tipped them to win Senior and next year I will have to tip someone else. Since they got to Senior in 2008 they always had at least one player in the Louth squad. But your right. Look at Cooley. Only a few years ago they had five players in the Louth squad and look at them now.

They are a good team but maybe having that many can be a hindrance... When the game is in the melting pot other players might just kinda expect their county stars to win it for them. Look at Ballmun the other night, I was sure as the sun rises every day they would be St Vincents. 4 Dublin starters on the team and they never got over the line.

They are not a good TEAM. Yes they have good individuals but that does not mean a good TEAM. This is where they have to improve but I still think they will come up short as they have not got as strong a 15 as some other teams and mentally to much falling short and they must now have serious serious doubts about getting across the line in very tight matches enough times to win a championship. Vincent's were strong favourites other night again because they have the better TEAM and know how to win, that's 4 senior championships in last 5 years. Newtown Blues to win again next year if they stick together and don't rest on their laurels Red2017 (Louth) - Posts: 122 - 03/11/2017 09:17:56 2059970 Link 0 |
I agree with that Ollie, I think the biggest problem in the dreadnots is that they think they are better than they are. If you go back to this years COD final, Take Pepi out of it and only one other player scored. having more county players than other teams should help them as they are the experienced guys that the younger lads look up to. I cant see them winning a Joe ward now, but i would love them to win one as they can play a nice brand of football at times sharpey (Louth) - Posts: 193 - 03/11/2017 10:26:28 2059997 Link 0 |
Vincent's wer underdogs the other night ballymun wer 4/7 favourites for some weird reason and when I seem Vincent's at 6/4 I jumped right in and made a nice few pound for my day.Bookies do get it wrong sometime

Yes Red the Blues will be the team to beat next year. They have not done back to back seniors since 2000/2001. Since then Mattock have done it once and the Pats have done it three times. I would love to see a new name on the trophy like the Jocks or Dreads winning it. Jocks v Dreads final would be something else.

There is very little between most of the teams in senior and there won't be a clear favourite next year . Anyone of eight or nine teams including The Dreadnots could win it . Having said that The Dreadnots have missed out regularly over the last number years and that seems to be working against them . A good manager could go a long way next year . It's not just managers it's backroom teams as well .
