I know from the one located at my own club, it makes a continuous beeping noise to signal the battery needs replacing. Its just my opinion but I know if an incident occurred on my local pitch id be happier knowing it was available."
A lot more then that but most clubs in limerick have one the problem is the people who are trained are far and few and need to be retrained every couple of years, also you can not operate one if your not trained and that's why all refs should be trained, but also if you talk to any medic cpr is the most important thing

Agree totally.... effective CPR is really what can save a life and buys serious added time for a patient until emergency services arrive. I would agree with all referees being trained in CPR and so should all club mentors.

Refs shouldn't have to be trained. Player safety on the pitch is part of their responsibility but not to this extent. Should referees also be trained first aiders and have to deal with other issues as well???

Anyone posting on this topic in the front line for such a proposal? If you were then you might think again, volunteers putting themselves in an unbelievably difficult position, potentially litigious if something goes wrong.
