Really good coverage from TG4 for our bread and butter games, however, I have one gripe and that is they have never shown an Antrim club final in either hurling or football, in fact they've never shown an ulster club hurling game.

Id be curious to hear if there are other counties similarly ignored

I don't think they have ever shown a Fermanagh team on a Sunday. I don't know why because Fermanagh club football is so strong....

The point im making is that firstly there are 32 counties in Ireland and secondly the standard of club football/hurling does not correlate with the standard of county teams

They only show the county final of the winning provincial champions. So this year its Tyrone, last year it was monaghan etc etc. Like ourselves you could be waiting a while for live coverage :p

They are a senior ulster championship side but they are far from the top end of it.

I'm not a betting man but at this stage even before the final is played Kilcar look really really strong. I'm hearing a lot of reports about them and they're heavily tipped against Glenswilly. Think I might make the trip to Ballybofey for that final
It'll be hard to look past Slaughneil and Scotstown all the same"
Yeah Kilcar are looking good. They destroyed last year's champions Glenties in the semi, scoring 5 goals in the process. Paddy McBrearty also missed a penalty. They are an extremely pacey team with the 3 McHughs and the two McBreartys. The ageless Michael Hegarty continues to gracefully dictate games from deep and the midfielder McGinley has a serious engine!

One worry I would have for them in the final is if Glenswilly play Murphy and big Neil inside, they could wreak havoc! But I'd still have to give Kilcar the nod.

Did they not show monaghan final on sunday there and I caught the highlights on Monday night and they had the Sligo final on so im not too sure about your theory there.

tongue in cheek there gotmilk, theyd be a decent intermediate team.

However, my point stands about the standards of club football/hurling compared to their respective county sides.

For example Cushendall v Slaughtneil in ulster hurling final last year was a cracker by all accounts.

Im speaking here with my antrim cap on obviously but most antrim hurling finals are very competitive and a decent standard to boot.
Similarly ive watched county finals from the better county sides that have been shocking and/or one sided.

No they don't. They showed Monaghan last week. Depends on the date, what county final is on, what code etc. they select on that basis. Not on what county won the provincial title.

Its a game I'm looking forward to seeing, From what i hear Kilcar play a high energy running game. having the mc hughs ( Eoin and Ryan) running at you would put the fear into many a team. They must be solid enough at the back all the same. Didn't Glenties hit them for 5 last year?
Maybe its Kilcar's turn to change the landscape of Donegal football with a different approach than what Mc Guinness brought with Glenties.

They showed highlights of Derrygonnelly and Lough Erne Gaels Belnaleck last week. Not full live game alas but a start anyway...

Ballyea brought on a sub and had a man down injured after the 3 minutes had started so the ref must add on for those events. If one of those hadnt happened..........
