Well done Mayo...

Replying To mayotyroneman:  "Green and red. Until mayo get a bit more cynical and learn how to intimidate refs they will continue to go nowhere. In second half Dublin committed 9 fouls in their own half stopping mayo counter attacks. What dismay concede. ONE and that was in 76th minute! Did deegan punish Dublin for this cynical fouling? Of course nor!"
Don't make me laugh! Mayo are as cynical a team as you'll find .
Well apart from Tyrone that is...

Replying To GreenandRed:  "Of course refs play a part Seanie but that's not my point.

If we are to keep improving and someday win the All Ireland we can forget about blaming referee's decisions, or indecisions, for losing a match. Nothing we can do about it in hindsight. Cynically looking for frees or trying to get opponents booked is wasting time that could be used improving areas that can make us champions. Dublin took their chances, we didn't. Simple as that."
Yeah agree 100% with you greenandred. Probably some of the most sensible and pragmatic opinions on here in ages.

Replying To Joxer:  "McLoughlin shouldn't have been on the pitch Seanie. He dragged Kev Mc down in the first when through on goal, stone wall black. Mayo player punched/decked Johnny Cooper after Keegan's goal, striking offence - straight red. Easy to look at refereeing decisions from one angle or another but these decisions even themselves out. Mayo got a couple of soft kickable frees also. Better team won at the end of the day. Everything else is academic."
Fitzsimons started, Davy Byrne came on for Cooper

These kind of headlines really p**s me off: Dubs' double delight as Westerners self-destruct . Dublin are a fantastic team and Mayo more than matched them over two games, so how can anybody say the players self-destructed. They came from 3 points down in extra time in the drawn game to level and nearly pulled off the same in the replay. That is not actions of a team who self-destruct. The big mistake for Mayo came before the game started when Roachford decided to drop Clarke.

I feel Mayo can still win the All-Ireland In the next few years. They are the only team who seem to be able to go toe to toe with Dublin. Yes they could do with another scoring forward as their starting forwards only contributed 3 points from play, maybe Evan Regan can step up.

Exactly.
I doubt very much Mayo people want to hear "well dones' from us.
They wanted so badly to win and probably should have won but were just pipped by the less error prone team.
Hard luck is what they want to hear not 'well done!

Mayo lost this all ireland because of atrocious selection decisions and goalkeeping errors.

Architects of their own failure on this occasion.
