Replying To ondeball:  "I 100% agree that it has been very well run this year. Its refereshing to know that there will be no dreaded league games played in October / November.

However, we are "lucky" that Westmeath have been knocked out of the championship early.
As it stands there will still be a mid week championship game played in August. Duel players will be under pressure.

I would argue that the number of championship games could be reduced. Currently every team gets 5 games. This could be reduced to 3 guaranteed games. Any thoughts on this?"
3 groups of 4? could get tricky with playoff's to see who goes through but might be better alright

Fixtures do seem to be running quite well, i see the Feis Cup final is fixed for this Sunday morning - Shamrocks vs Rosemount.
Championship all the way from here on in.

I doubt either side will making it a priority with championship on the following two weekends. Any player with a niggle won't be risked, and some players maybe even rested. Both clubs have large panels.

I'd say both clubs will go hammer and tongs to win. Great opportunity for silverware a week before championship. You can beat matches so I'd say it's been great preparation for both teams and better than challenge games. They are not in the same championship group either. Saw the demolition job Rosemount did on Caulry in the semi, 0-14, 1-2. The Roses will fancy their chances v the townies particularly with future Westmeath manager John Keane at the helm.

Game is in doubt as Rosemount apparently have dual players with Fr.Daltons who have championship hurling at the same time.

Feis Cup Final now postponed owing to clash with Intermediate Hurling.

John Keane is only a selector with Rosemount but im sure in time will be manager. Rosemount could go well in there group.
Any predictions for the Intermediate Championship.

I think they have two, but yes it's ridiculous. It's a Feis Cup final, not championship. They should have just played. It won't be played until after the group stages of championship now, at the earliest. They could be missing even more by then. Or maybe not even training anymore if out of championship.

From talking to some Rosemount lads, they have lads with Fr Dalton and Castletown, and Mullingar have players hurling this weekend too, so this must be the reason. It will more than likely be a nothing game now, played when champ is over.

Looking at their Facebook page it's quite clear that Shamrocks are annoyed by the postponement. Will probably be played in November now. Shame.

championship games take precedent over other games
Ringtown players and management had organised shift work and other stuff around a sunday morning fixture.

10th / 11th March is proposed for start of football leagues, didn't see date for hurling.
Same plan as last year, get leagues completed before championship which worked well last year.
