Kerry beating Dublin more like. They will still win All Ireland s if they can find someone else to beat Dublin. Same as the last decade when Tyrone were knocked out.

League games being played at the end of the calendar year.

Increasingly, dual players at county level (in men's GAA at least).

Oireachtas hurling.

Significance of the Railway Cup.

Kerry have won the last two minor All-Irelands (with a strong possibility of doing three in a row) as well as back to back junior titles, Kerry schools winning the Hogan Cup etc. They'll also be strong at U-21 level next year, so I reckon it won't be too long before they're back contesting All-Ireland senior finals again.

This goes back to the 1970s: No team bus to intercounty matches; everyone getting lifts off friends and family. Downing some whiskey in the local pub the night before an AI semi-final 'to make a man of you'. Out celebrating getting to an AI semi final the night before the AI semi final.

The wall posters with the All-Star teams.

Sean Og's Sunday night run down of the scores from the counties. You would listen just waiting for your club scores to be mentioned. There was something mystic about that program. You would always seem to tune in and leave it on sometimes in the background, only half listening but listening none the same

Several teams have also changed their county colours or the dominant colour on their kit, e.g Fermanagh used to play in red and green, Donegal's jersey used to be predominantly green with some gold trim while Sligo used to play in white jerseys. Mayo away jerseys were usually red (sometimes white) but now we have that black and luminous monstrosity.

Refs now wear multicoloured kits instead of the traditional black. A referee friend once told me that the GAA make officials pay for their kit, not sure if he was pulling my leg or not.

Another casualty of the multimedia age! When I was a kid in the 1990s, the Manchester Evening News used to bring out a mini-newspaper about an hour after the final whistle, with all the scores and match reports from the games of the day. Of course, invariably the odd score line was missed due to a late goal, but it was THE source of sports news for fans going to games in those parts.

Of course, once mobile phones and text messenging, instant alerts etc. came along, this sort of service was on borrowed time, and it was killed in the early 2000s.

Having the world's library at your fingertips is a great thing in many ways, but I do miss the tension and craic of waiting for results to roll in through these sort of bulletins.

Have Wexford done away with the yellow belly?

Suppose that goalie jersies started changing decades ago when they started wearing different clouts from the outfielders.

I always listened to him as a young lad and just for a bit of diversion I'd try and guess the second score. Sean Og would say Longford Slashers 2-9 Drumlish... and I'd be in like Flynn with 1-7 or whatever. The odd time I'd get it right I'd be delighted. I know I had a sad life but back in those days there were no PlayStations , mobile phones etc. I can hear that introduction in my head. Sean Og, Michael O'Hehir, Michael O Muircheartaigh, they don't make their likes any more. Who said nostalgia was a thing of the past.....

Surely you have been to Casement cavanman? Respect always was rightfully given to the full anthem - was always announced prior over the PA to respect it to the end in keeping with the tradition in Casement. Never understand why supporters at other grounds can't refrain from gouling and cheering for a few more seconds until the singer/band has finished or why players break away while still being performed. Very disrespectful.

Time bound suspensions are another one, get an eight week ban but fail to miss a match. Crazy when you look back on it.
