Im after reading that the post will be open to other applicants. Do Rossies want rid of McStay and McHale as well?

Replying To longballin:  "We had everyone available they were just not selected for one reason or another. And that's why O'Donnell had to go. Too loyal to his friends who simply were not county standard"
Would McStay also not be equally to blame here??

Replying To longballin:  "Ros1 only Collins, Stack and Cafferky were injured and only Collins out of those three would have started if fit.

All other players had at least three weeks full training done"
Rubbish d murtagh was not fit playing for his club 2 weeks after. Higgins, harney and e Smith were not fit looking the week after, never mind that day. Plus the likes of c shine and carty struggled for with injuries and fitness all year long. 3 weeks training after been out all year long is useless. The reason fergal is gone is because of a campaign led by brigids and clann.

It's absolutely crazy.I think the players need to stand up and take some of the blame.every management we have had can't be blamed every time.I want mc stay and mchale to stay on.we can't keep changing every year.plus who would want this job if the south roscommon clubs keep getting involved every time a player like Senan isn't picked (that's a fact)

If McStay decides he wants out now as well, where does that leave us? Who would be attracted to this job now after the way John Evans left and now this? And after the summers performances, people will surely doubt where this group can go. Its a real mess that I hope we can get out of. I hope McStay remains and gets some strong characters to join his backroom team.

The problem appears to be coming from John Evans era, he convinced the players that they were good enough to win the All Ireland title, nobody is that good unless they actually win it only Kerry and Dublin fall into this category. The rossies done very well in the league, maybe they peaked too early and were gone before the champ, if I were McStay I would walk, he should have got the full job and not as joint manager, no matter what you want to try you can never succeed when there are 2 different voices, the same with joint captains, nonsense

The good league run did them no favours, they peaked too soon. No chance of them winning anything major.

I think they needed to "peak" for the league in order to stay in Division 1 which they did. Many of the teams they beat early in the league were not at full tilt. That said it does not excuse their championship form. Roscommon have not been a championship team for many years now. It is something they need to address.

Dineen reckons he has got a lot of support. I would welcome a Roscommon man who has great knowledge of the county to take the role. Whole thing needs to be sorted soon. ( on a side issue ROSCOMMON are miles off Dublin Kerry Tyrone Mayo yet. In terms of championship football and the vast majority of Roscommon fans know that) No use peaking in April and flopping in JULY! !
