I reckon this year will be the worst ever to try get a ticket , Dublin GAA is a monster in terms of its size and reach compared to 10 & 20 years ago. I'd say Dublin would sell 100,000 plus tickets themselves for this final, every tom Dick , Damo or Ivor is a Dublin supporter at this stage .
Mayo probably have the biggest per head support per capita in the country not to mention huge numbers abroad in particular the UK who would pay any money for tickets.
Then you also have all the other football fans in the other counties who have been licking their lips for more after last Sundays classic .
I'd say theres 250,000 people would go to football final if they could get a ticket where as Hurling final just about sell out but then again if you had a Limerick v Cork Hurling final be mayhem."

Very good, although Ivor would be more in to the blue of Leinster Rugby and the Aviva than Dublin Gaa and Hill 16 ;)

I meet a lot of Ivors in Dublin with work, 10 even 5 years ago it was all Rugby but be it Dalkey, Clontarf , Portmarnock, malahide, Skerries i'm hearing more and more GAA talk..a lot of the little Ivors are playing underage GAA because of all the coachs in schools and Daddy Ivor sees how well organised these clubs are underage ....net result is the Ivors are starting to swell the ticket demands!!

Interesting post I just saw over on the GAAboard forum re: Ticket allocation for Mayo clubs.

There's only 3,700 Mayo season tickets between Croke Park Season tickets and Cáirde Maigheo. I've always heard Mayo fans say they had about 7k.

Never head anyone say we had 7k. That is our full allocation from Croke Park used up. There are people I know waiting to get season tickets but they need someone not to renew to apply for one.

I've heard the 7k mark mentioned quite a few times. Not saying I thought it was true but I'm surprised the amount is that low. I thought Mayo had more given the numbers they always have in the Cusack. Makes me wonder how many Dublin have. We have a similar waiting list.

Question for season ticket holders. My son's ticket even though I paid full price for it says 'stj - u16) on it. There's a chance he might get a Gill ticket and if so I'd be wanting to bring a friend with me. Has anyone gone to a final on a juvenile Ticket? Can't imagine they can refuse you if you've paid full price?

If the non-terrace tickets are all €80 why bother with marking some as juvenile tickets at all ? Are certain blocks of seats set down for juveniles ?

I think it's more certain sections are put aside for season ticket holders and what's on your season ticket card is printed on your ticket.

Where would be the best place to pick up a 'spare ticket' ??
(silly question of the season award winner surely)

Got sort of cheapish flights through Ryanair and coming over for the day.
I usually wander up and down O'Connell Street shouting ''any spare tickets'' and getting harassed by touts/ scalpers asking stupid money.

The growth in the number of clubs overseas is wonderful overall, but it definitely makes sourcing All-Ireland tickets much more difficult. My club got one ticket, but we have large numbers of Dubs in the club, so I lost out on it in a club raffle. A fella from a nearby club contacted me saying that they had a spare, but then cancelled on me as his brother needed one. I have a few leads with other GAA contacts, bit I have the feeling it will go down to the wire this time. Worst comes to worst I'll head into town on the Sunday morning doing the rounds.

Does irk me slightly that there will probably be quite a few Johnny come Latelys with match tickets already, but them's the breaks.

Are you flying in on Sunday, you said for the day?

If you're gonna be here on Saturday the Kilmacud 7s on Saturday is supposedly a good place to find a spare ticket. I say supposedly cos I've never heard of anyone getting a ticket there.

Hi folks, I'm hoping some of you can shed some light on why it's been so hard to get a final ticket this year? I've never seen it so bad.
I live in Perth, Western Australia and travelled home for the final in 2011, 2013, 2015 and arrive back in Dubland this Saturday. I got married in Croker in 2013 ,my car reg plate is UPTHEDUBS and anyone who knows me will say I've an unhealthy obsession with the Dubs! The only two people I know who have a ticket are Parnell Pass holders which I've had in previous years but could not afford the outlay this year on top of the GAAGO session ticket as I'm trying to start my own company. If anyone has any thoughts or advice on where I should be looking for tickets I'd very much appreciate it. Hon the Dubs.

At this stage I'd say your best best would be outside Croke Park or in the surrounding pubs on the day. Also someone above suggested maybe the Kilmacud 7's on the Saturday? Really hope you get sorted, that's a lot of money to spend and a long way to travel to support your county. Hope the result is worth the trip!

Hope both sets of fans are enjoying the build up to the big day, granted searching for a ticket is not fun.
The only time I had difficulty was in 04 & 06 Mayo folk come from all corners of the world, I remember standing outside Barry's in 06 and 4 Americans in Red & Green were saying how they couldn't believe it was the first game to ever attend.
Last year there was 2 Americans in the canal end at HT discussing if they'd go back to their hotel as it was pour rain!
Unfortunately that's the way finals go...
There will be tickets around the Place like the Gresham for example...
I ended up with 3 last year and helped out a few lads .... Enjoy the next few days...
High stool for me...
