Unlucky to mayo today. great effort but have to say changing goalkeepers. terrible tactics.thought dubs deserved their win and these are great times to be a dublin supporter..now 3 in a row is on for 2017..up dublin.

There should be no excuses here. Mayo picked Hennelly and that probably ended any chance of winning the match. it was a completely off the wall decision by Mayo mgt. Guys break there arses all year to get to the final and then the guys on the sideline have a brain wave to put a keeper who made a number of blunders in big matches on instead of a keeper that was in contention for an Allstar before today

Congrats to this great Dublin team, you can't buy what they have. Huge commiserations to Mayo, but don't give me that no 3 cheers bullshit, no one likes it and Cluxton knows it.
Huge feck up by Rochford and his team changing keepers like that and it blew up in their faces, we just about deserved it but there is only a point between these sides.
The back to back has been put to bed and this Dublin team are truly great champions and a great side.
Up the Dubs!!!

Definitely taut that was wide. How john small stayed on the pitch in first half is baffling. What he did was way worse than what keegan did. Is this one of our best referees?

No it was a definite point, umpire watched it all the way,no protest from Mayo either.Mayo keeper just rushed to kick the ball out, it was high but clearly a point, DOC cost Mayo that score by blocking down the first free kick, what was he thinking!! between that, COC missing the last free and the keeper having a nightmare, that cost Mayo.

Me heart is in bits for Mayo. How much heartache can they take. Tough on all players and management and supporters sport can be so cruel . Safe travels back west lads.
Congrats Dublin.

IMO Mayo have shown teams how to take on the Dubs though. Savage intensity and workrate.

Hard luck to Mayo as annoying as some of their players are you'd still need a heart of stone not to feel for their great following. Delighted for my own county, it was hard work over the two games to get going. The margins were small, but just enough, I have no doubt both these teams will be contesting the final stages of the championhip again next year.

Most people know that Dublin are a great team and I would have said that even if they had been beaten. As well as some great footballers they have great pace all over the pitch. A totally silly dumb call by the manager to leave one of the best keepers on the side line-will they look for a new manager now?. Why did O'Shea not get a penalty when he was fouled twice ( rugby tackled twice two guys on his back- an amazing decision by ref) inside the square. The black card is again be given out like a lottery.

Donegal are the only team to have shown that when we beat them in 2014.

So two OGs in the first and a calamitous decision to not stick with keeper...mad stuff.

Mayo played with the poise of champions in both games...there is definitely one in this team.

Serious character to come back year after year.

Well done to both teams for two great games.

True, but the more I hear about that game in 2014 the more Im reminded of just how long its been since someone last managed to beat this lot.

Exciting game with a lot of talking points. There are three points in particular that puzzle me; 1. Why did Mayo change keepers before the game? Was Clarke carrying an injury?
2. How did Connolly and Small manage to stay on the pitch?
3. Why did the ref not give a free when AOS was fouled, not once but twice, in front of goal near the finish (I don't think it was in the penalty area)?
Some might quibble at the standard of play but it was full blooded and entertaining. Mayo fans no doubt will feel depressed as they were the better team and had most of the better players. Maybe there is something in 'the curse'.

thought the ball was way right of the upright looking at it from the kickers perspective...umpire was poorly positioned imo to make a definite call....hawk eye should have been used...

Rubbish, better team won, ref gave Mayo plenty of handy ones let the truth be known, no way did the better team lose. Superdubs, championies!!!

Mayo got their fair share of calls over the two days
Sadly for them their a player or two short
The change of goalie today probably had a bigger impact on the result than anything Maurice deegan did or didn't do
Anyway fair play dublin it was put up to ye over the 2 days and ye dug it out ... worthy back to back champions Imo!

Mayo and all their players have got to stick with it for 2017.

They have a great chance next year in my opinion

2017 is a big chance for them, Dublin are the only team that are better than them and as great as they I can't see Dublin being able to keep this up , they look physically and mentally exhausted from the last few years.Kerry,Cork and Ulster (as a whole) are all in transition.

I'd make them joint favourites with Dublin for next years all ireland, they just desperately nee to work on there forward play and find out where Aidan O'Shea has to play to get the best out of him.

2 great games and credit is due to both teams. It would be unfair on Mayo to say that the Dubs were the better team. They were both evenly matched. 2 ogs in the 1st game and the keeper mistake for the penalty have cost Mayo. U just cannot expect to win games doing that. They gave away a lot of tap over frees in the 1st half as well. Seamus o shea did not deserve to be on the losing side today. He was unbelievable for Mayo. Feel sorry for Cillian O Connor missing that free. He is the best free taker in the country. Mayo fans must be sick. U have to hand it to the Dubs tho. They are a serious outfit.
Gavin has them in great shape. All black cards given were correct calls by the ref.

Congrats to Dublin, a truly exceptional side who will undoubtedly now be talked of in the exalted company of the great sides of yesteryear.

Neither will I quibble about the referee or disputed points or black card decisions.

Ultimately what cost Mayo is some poor decision-making in attack and the decision to change the keeper today. I don't want to slate players but this is the third time that a clanger from this player has cost us an All-Ireland title (minor replay in 2008 and senior final in 2013 also). Clarke was excellent when he came on and was on a good vein of form, so it's very hard to figure out the rationale for that selection.

Hard to take losing another final, but between grief and nothing, I'll take grief every time ( and may have to!). Another season starts in January.

Well done Dublin, as much as it kills me to say that. But character, desire, passion and undoubted skill carried Dublin over the line.

People can talk about whatever decision by Maurice Deegan (or Conor Lane the previous day), black cards, management decisions etc, but at the end of the day Dublin simply ground the result by outscoring this truly courageous and magnificent Mayo team. Mayo gave their all, but fell short, unfortunately for them.
