Worst final in a long time. Refeering was horrendous, should have been at least 3 black cards more. Some complaining by O'connor at the end, horrible unsporting behaviour. Where did they get 7mins stoppage time at? kevin03 (Tyrone) - Posts: 276 - 18/09/2016 17:16:30 1915707 Link 0 |
This is the worst I have seen Dublin play in a long time.This was a great chance for Mayo. ziggy32001 (Meath) - Posts: 8354 - 18/09/2016 17:16:46 1915708 Link 0 |
Dunno about that. Why were Dublin not good? Mayo's defence were very good. Mayo were poor up front themselves in the first half. O'Shea wasn't great all game. I saw that game and saw despite reputation Mayo were man for man as good as Dublin. Whammo86 (Antrim) - Posts: 4226 - 18/09/2016 17:17:10 1915709 Link 0 |
The worst I have seen Dublin play for some time and I think they were a bit complacement today.Hope I am wrong, but Dublin will come out strong in the replay. This is no time for Mayo to be patting themselves on the back.

Mayo were given the best chance ever of winning an A.I. today, Dublin have never played so badly, must be the poorest performance by a Dublin team in years. Doesn't look good for Mayo if they can't beat Dublin on a very bad day. Brian_Coyote (Antrim) - Posts: 346 - 18/09/2016 17:25:56 1915714 Link 0 |
20secs added for each sub in the second half and I think everyone cleaned out the bench. Not so much for injuries but more for time wasting - 7mins was no surprise.

Good game. Dublin should win the replay. Since only a handful of players had a good game today there is a lot of room for improvement. Small Kilkenny and Andrews were good. That was it. tyroneed (Tyrone) - Posts: 753 - 18/09/2016 17:30:26 1915718 Link 0 |
There should be no black cards because it is a nonsense and everyone knows its a nonsense. A foul either has intent or it doesn't. If it has intent it's red, if it doesn't it's yellow and if people want to make another category then the only sensible alternative is to have a sin bin.

Very exciting game and excellent game considering the conditions. Mayo were much the better team but left the game behind them. Small and Fenton were the only Dublin players to win their own particular match-ups. Aidan O'Sea was disappointing although he got nothing from the ref. D O'Connor was out on his feet and needed to be replaced earlier.

Mayo better team as they were in last years drawn semi. Have a great chance to win this replay though. Young Durcan was very good today mhunicean_abu (Monaghan) - Posts: 1044 - 18/09/2016 17:33:38 1915725 Link 0 |
The ball and the surface looked at times like a bar of soap - suited defenses. Dublin looked very hesitant and Mayo didn't. zinny (Wexford) - Posts: 1805 - 18/09/2016 17:34:50 1915726 Link 0 |
O'Connor was obviously pointing out to the ref that Regan had a bad head injury and that the play needed to be stopped whilst he was dealt with. What was wrong with that?

Error ridden . Poor referring . Will Dublin play as bad again. Mayo were the better team and should have the Cup tonight. Still capable of doing it on Oct 1 . Mayo got the tactics spot on. moros (Roscommon) - Posts: 1080 - 18/09/2016 17:37:55 1915730 Link 1 |
Draw fair result .well done to mayo to close down the 5 points..dubs didnt bring their best today.too many players didnt show up..expect better from dublin in replay..have mayo missed their chance today?? GGdub (Dublin) - Posts: 260 - 18/09/2016 17:41:44 1915732 Link 0 |
The Dubs seemed a bit like us in the 2014 final, I think their heads were at the celebration tonight,Mayo just put them back on their heels from the start, 2 lucky goals kept them in it, have to say I did not see that coming, the conditions, state of mind etc just left the Dubs at 6's and 7's. McCarthy took out a player who was moving to tackle the Dub player with the ball - a clear black card. Connolley and McAuley should also have been black carded in the first half and Mayo should have had one in the second half. There was a neck high challenge by a Dublin player that was very dangerous and could have earned a red rather than a yellow.
