Will Mayo fans go to the hill for the final ?

I used to love the finals of old when both goal ends were littered with flags . Looked great during the parade .

Clown yes it does, if ye ever went outside the M50 you would see that we all don't have motorways and trains to our doorstep like ye do up there, bloody state wasting all our country's money in 1 county

In fairness it takes some of us and Kerry and Donegal people a fair while to get to Croker. But if it's taking 6 hours you need a better map or a bit more welly on the accelerator.

Ditto gleebo I don't care if I'm hanging off the rafters as long as I get in

Wouldn't be stressing too much - word on the street is that all Hill tickets have already been sold in Brazil.

I see your point but for me it has all the atmosphere without a roof and on a sunny day you would miss out on that in big championship days, it's probably the best place in Ireland for getting a good tan haha"
I think you're putting on the rose (or light blue) coloured specs there Hill man, my lot are from the "sunny south east" corner and I could count the sun tans I've built up on holiday on the one hand!

Mayo have been traditionalists supporters for generations and massively supported both at home and abroad.
Just ask London GAA over here in London or New York..
Dublin have invested millions to attract your supporters back for the past 2 decades , as it was a fading sport not long ago in the capital... and don't forget headquarters is only in your backdoor."
You could tell from the crowd cheering Tipp on yesterday that there was a lot more than 5k Tipp supporters at the game. Not a chance 47k of the 52k were Mayo supporters.

I came over from London to see them play Tyrone , and had a good weekend, then back again.
Comparing Dublin to Castlebar is nonsensical theory ,you couldn't fill croker in the earlier rounds in the Capital City and its only a stone throw away from you ,whereas generations of us have immigrated .
London withheld their stadium rebuild before the Mayo match this year in Ruislip, simply because of the financial income it would generate.
Thousands were there, a money spinner for London , and many and will fly over once again in the 3rd week of September.
The band wagoners are your good selves.

I would say its 6 on a bus easy to Dublin.

Belmullet and West Kerry is probably the same."
I've made it is less than 4 hours a few times. Once you get to Killybegs, it's decent road the rest of the way. 6 hours? Never. I'd be surprised if it was 5 on a bus, assuming slow driver and traffic.

Sure you'd get to Gweedore in less than 5, and that's a much tougher trip.

So Vishred you think no Dublin supporters flew in from London or New York or wherever for games only you and Mayo supporters? You had 4 home championship games you didn't fill any of them so we're your getting 50 thousand from I don't know. You honestly believe if Dublin played London every 4 years we wouldn't bring a massive crowd over ? Vishred we all have bandwagoners Dublin Mayo Kerry everyone.

The new Ballaghadereen by pass takes another half hour off the Mayo journey in fairness, it's about 3 and a half hours from Belmullet and if you put your foot on it you'd do it in 3. Nowhere on this island takes 6 hours to get to Dublin in all fairness.

Rubbish talk ye played a do or die qualifier double header the week before the quarter final in croke park and the overall attendance for the four counties was 25 thousand. Ye had 10 thousand max that day so within a week you reckon you were going to get 40 thousand more to join the bandwagon haha

I don't think the railway line would cause much trouble putting up a roof as the roof would be erected inside the wall that exists id imagine probably reducing the capacity for the hill though.

Haha seriously I go in before the first game and most Dublin matches are double headers so your there for near 4 hours on a hot day like the quarter final double header or the semi final game v mayo last year you come home with plenty of sun , I do tan good easily which is unusual for an irish person so maybe that's the difference haha

As far as I know they didn't build around the hill end cause it would of cost too much to stop the railway track and buy the houses at the back on Clonliffe road. I think in time they will eventually build it all around when the money is there.

Hope not and don't think they will as if you mean continue around with seats you would only reduce the capacity.
