No disrespect - they've been fantastic. But, I predict a big win for Mayo.

That's not being disrespectful to Tipp at all as they've done fantastic to get this far.

However suggesting that this Mayo side will lose to Tipp is maybe a little disrespectful to Mayo imo.

If I'm wrong in wrong and I'll gladly admit that on Sunday evening. But this Mayo side is a great team and they've had one blip (as in losing to an inferior side) in 5 seasons. They won't have another blip."
Sums up my feelings on it.

I don't think there's been much disrespect of Tipp.

People have mentioned Kerry's easy run to the semifinals which included Tipp in there.

I do think that's fair enough. Tipp are a good team, but I think most would agree they're an easier prospect than Cork as a Munster final opponent.

I know they beat Cork and also have gone on to reach an AI semi but I still think Cork would beat Tipp more than they'd lose and they'd probably have given Kerry a closer run.

Maybe that's being disrespectful to Tipp, I don't mean it to be, just trying to be realistic.

There's a lot of bitter comments directed towards Tipperary in other threads. It's totally uncalled for. They are in the semi-final on merit. They superbly beat Cork to make the Munster final. They dusted themselves down from defeat to win a qualifier round and then knock out the Connaught champions."
Id love to see a new team enter the fray and good luck to them but I really can't see Mayo lose - they are just too experienced - and proved that in last round.

Certain quarters seem to resent their progress to the semi-final.

Incredibly vague statement there. Who exactly resents Tipp's progress. Add a few links. And a few links with 'bitter' comments like a good man.

I'll be watching this one in Tipp and there isn't much hype about it down here sadly for an AI semi final.General thoughts seem to be "they won't beat Mayo".

I have to disagree I mean I don't see why they couldn't . Tipp hammered the team Mayo lost to , granted Mayo have come on a bit since then but Tipp have come on since their own loss.I'd like to see Tipp win for the neutral sake but I still believe Mayo will win.Hopefully it will be a close game

What resentment and bitterness are you talking about ? Even the Tipp lads a wondering what you are on about.
I've heard none of it only good wishes towards them. People expect Mayo to win the game but that's par for the course seeing as the experience and players they have. That's not disrespect just reality . You seem to be confusing the two .

I certainly don't think there's a shortage of respect towards them, they're in the all Ireland semi final on merit after a several top class displays against very reputable teams, most notably the win over the heavily fancied and connaucht champions Galway. to be honest i think this thread is more patronizing towards them than anything. it insinuates they should be getting their pats on the back now because they've done so well to get this far, but this is a very good Tipperary team and they definitely won't feel like this is the pinnacle for them. they see an opportunity just the same as Mayo. Regarding the game though, its Mayo for me

Obviously people saying they expect Mayo to win is not bitter. Noone's said otherwise.

Anyone who wants to take the time to go through posts since Tipperary's win to get to the semi-finals will come across bitter comments. Others can shine the spotlight on them if they wish.

In my own humble opinion the Tipperary players and management are deserving of respect for their fine run to date. They won't be turning up to Croke Park on Sunday to make up the numbers.

I don't disagree with Mayo's favourites tag. It's not beyond Tipperary to cause another upset despite Mayo being forewarned.

Havnt seen any disrespecting of Tipp.Don't know where this is coming from but all I've come across is great respect for what they have achieved as a predominantly hurling county.

Whatever happens for the rest of the championship Tipp can be very proud of making the strides they have. Hopefully it's a foundation they can build on over the next few years and inspire the kids in the county to take up football as well as or instead of hurling. Always nice to have another dual county on board.

Mayo by 5 points for me though.

Tipp are breath of fresh air, the players play in a very cavalier style and rightly shouldn't get a sh1te what people think. Consider this no one gives them a prayer, so what? a win would be no surprise to me though, as Mayo do have a soft side. Keegan/O'Connor/O'Shea and co should do the business hopefully it is style and not with the usual smell of controversy that follows this team like dog poo on a shoe.

Tipp are a classy side but are there any surprises left? Rockford is making his mark on the big stage for sure. Best to both neighbours.

Is this Yerra stuff!? Kerry killed them!? And Claire!?
Look if the Mayo boys don't perform, it's over for that group. This Mayo team are like Cork in 2010, should have won an All Ireland earlier. But might fall over the line. Tipp have done amazing stuff, but who are you betting on Legendz?

Tipperary have done very well to get here. They have had luck along the way. Cork didn't deserve to beat team but easily could have. Derry could have beaten them. They are indeed making progress but a fairer reflection of their ability might be their league position. They had an average Division 3 season. Clare won Division 3 but lost out at the quarter final stage. Tyrone won the McKenna Cup, Division 2 and the Ulster championship (the only competitive football provincial), yet also exited at the quarter final stage.

I think Mayo will win with ease. There is no shame in that for Tipp. They are up against a much more experienced, battle hardened team. As one of the Tipp lads said on here, Tipp want to dine at the top table regularly. For this to become regular basis they must get out of Division 3 and play the better teams more often.

Who is this Noone character you speak of? Anything to the Maghera Noone's?

The only one making these claims is yourself and won't even back them up by posting links. Clearly on the windup.

Mayo? Controversial? Are you still whinging about Aidan O'Shea falling over? Or was it Lee Keegan having a roll around with poor wee Diarmuid Connolly that has you all hot and bothered? Maybe you've been taking TheMaster a bit too seriously.

Come on man! How are Mayo any more controversial than your boys and their fabled "principles"?

Yeah, they're still whingeing, in a desperate attempt to deflect from the ocular probings of one of their number.

I don't think that even Galway's performance was down to disrespect, they just didn't have it in the tank. Mayo were where Tipp are now in 2011, a side on the up, and with potential still unknown. They're not to be under estimated.
