All those tuppences back now (with a good deal of interest), Missus. You shouldn't have been so arrogant. MiAmigaVERONICA (Clare) - Posts: 301 - 04/09/2016 16:57:10 1909878 Link 0 |
Panned out as I had thought and hoped! We had a team that was purpose-built to beat Kilkenny. Always felt we had their measure. And I don't buy the argument it's a poor Kilkenny team! roundball (Tipperary) - Posts: 2514 - 04/09/2016 17:05:57 1909879 Link 0 |
All great teams come come to an end, well done Tipp I've a feeling this is only the start for them. Kilkenny the greatest team I've every seen but as I said all great teams come to an end. Some of the players they have are nowhere near the standard of old Kilkenny teams. clondalkindub (Dublin) - Posts: 9926 - 04/09/2016 17:06:28 1909880 Link 0 |
Congrats to Tipp no disputing what a fine win this is, Kilkenny were a mess, poor touch, poor decisions, poor defense a really awful day for them. So yeah Tipp well done, what it means long term? who knows or cares for now, enjoy. arock (Dublin) - Posts: 4897 - 04/09/2016 17:06:34 1909881 Link 0 |

True it is always sad to see an era close but both Tipp and Kilkenny are hurling powerhouses they will be back. But somehow you feel this is the end.

If there's 1 person I shouldn't criticise its Brian Cody but how Kilkenny didn't make any changes in the full bank line is baffling,in fairness to Paul Murphy he's been the best corner back in Ireland for the last 5 years but all 3 in their fb line got roasted, also strange not to bring in John Joe Farrell and john power when they needed goals in the last 20 mins. Tipp's ff line got 2-15 from play which is staggering bostonredsox (Wexford) - Posts: 4368 - 04/09/2016 18:35:00 1909911 Link 0 |

someone just told me there was 107 stoppages in play over 70 min,m between scores, wides, frees, line balls etc great non stop action sure Stmunnsriver (Wexford) - Posts: 2844 - 04/09/2016 18:45:18 1909919 Link 0 |
It wasnt the best game ever played, as Tipp were much much better than them, but it was great action for the most part, and it certainly felt like it was non stop. Thanks for your statistics all the same. joncarter (Galway) - Posts: 2692 - 04/09/2016 18:51:22 1909922 Link 0 |
Felt that Holden looked very nervous before the game (easy to be wise with hindsight I know), and yeah, Murphy is a real warrior, but O dwyer really bested him today. 2-15 from play is crazy stuff. joncarter (Galway) - Posts: 2692 - 04/09/2016 18:55:17 1909923 Link 0 |
Tipp saved hurling this year. I don't think I could have handled the Killkenny domination continuing. Jack_Goff (Meath) - Posts: 2920 - 04/09/2016 19:01:10 1909926 Link 0 |
We could just take Kilkenny out of Leinster for 2017. Put them in Munster next year, and then in 2018 put them in Leinster again and have it on a rotation basis every year ?
