All great teams come come to an end, well done Tipp I've a feeling this is only the start for them. Kilkenny the greatest team I've every seen but as I said all great teams come to an end. Congrats to Tipp no disputing what a fine win this is, Kilkenny were a mess, poor touch, poor decisions, poor defense a really awful day for them. So yeah Tipp well done, what it means long term? who knows or cares for now, enjoy. Kilkenny were exceptionally poor throughout this game for three Tipp forwards to get something like 2-12 between them mostly from play really sums up how one-sided this game was. A poor day on the field of hurling means a comprehensive defeat. But Tipp were hungry, pacey and first to every ball and for me Callanan is a beast!! True it is always sad to see an era close but both Tipp and Kilkenny are hurling powerhouses they will be back. Delighted for Tipp. Alot of them fellas carried some demons into todays final and were under pressure to exorcise them, and they did it in style. Especially happy for Mick Ryan who comes across as a good guy. If there's 1 person I shouldn't criticise its Brian Cody but how Kilkenny didn't make any changes in the full bank line is baffling,in fairness to Paul Murphy he's been the best corner back in Ireland for the last 5 years but all 3 in their fb line got roasted,also strange not to bring in John Joe Farrell and john power when they needed goals in the last 20 mins.
