Would a boycott stop admission price climb

There is a season ticket. Genuine supporters should either be sorted through their club or else the genuine supporter will already be availing of the season ticket scheme. Fear not. The genuine supporter will not be missing out.

What exactly is a "genuine supporter" and they wont at all be sorted by their club in a lot of cases as demand will outstrip supply.

In comparison to any other sport or music event the GAA is supreme value. The season ticket is great value when you consider its the whole league and gaurenteed a ticket for every game.
The only meaness I fimd is the leinster council pricing of the provincial final 50 euro is steep considering the AI quaterfinal and semi final are cheaper.
Out of interest what price are other provincial finals?

GAA has different overheads so of course costs will be different. Provincial finals are a provincial councils biggest day of the year and biggest income of the year so of course they will get the best price they can.
There are plenty of 'genuine supporters' that can't get their hands on a season ticket so they won't always be looked after.
There's a huge waiting list for the Dublin & Mayo season ticket. People on those lists will only be looked after if current ST holders don't renew.
Likewise a 'genuine supporter' won't always be sorted through their club. My own club got 45 tickets last year. I know dozens of people who went to all the games having bought their tickets through the club but weren't lucky enough to get a ticket for the final.
Plenty of 'genuine supporters' struggle every year to get tickets for the final.

Why do Dublin have waiting lists for season tickets when they play all their home games in Croke Park these days? There's more than enough room for loads of season tickets.

€50 is ridiculous for a provincal match, regardless of it being a final. Connacht final was €30. I know its up to each provincal council to price them but surely all provincial finals should be the same price. €30 is enough.

Why should all provincial finals be the same price?

The pricing structure does not make any sense for example it was 20 euro to get into leitrim first round qualifier game against Waterford, it was the exact same price to get into the 2 quarter finals games involving the four of the top teams

Different venues will have different costs and number of people etc attending affects breakeven point etc

Ridiculous statement from you. All qualifiers were that price no matter what venue it was played in. I paid 20 euro for a ticket into castlebar in July, so how can Pairc Sean MacDiarmadda and Croke Park have the same costs when it comes to overheads.
Just to let you know a reduction in costs can increase the number of people attending meaning that they still breakeven. If i'm honest I would say that qualifier games are currently operating at a loss.

In response to Ormond's question, Mayo are supposed have about 5000 season ticket holders, though the waiting list is also pretty long. Not sure how many Dublin have.

What exactly is a genuine supporter? A genuine supporter for many reasons doesn't or cant get tickets from their club due to overdemand or may not have a season ticket for a variety of reasons

A provincial final is still the showpiece of that competition and funds from tickets are vital for the provincial councils. That doesn't mean all Ireland semis have to be more expensive.... they may be 32 county competitions rather than 6/9/12 etc but that doesn't mean they should be more expensive.

How many season tickets do each county have? Dublin play all their home games in Croke Park why are they limited in terms of the number of season tickets they can sell.

Croke park sets the price for all qualifer/quarter finals. There should be a sliding scale of pricing.
