Definitely handier for Kilkenny fans who drive up, takes only 30-40 minutes from the middle or north of the county. Harder for fans who like to get buses and trains up to matches in Dublin with their kids.

Waterford will be delighted with Thurles, they will bring a massive crowd to Thurles as Junior said its a home game for them.
I think they might have blown their chance I know Tipp did in the 14 final I said it coming out the gate you don't beat KK in replays but then again is this a different KK to a few years ago, they don't have that serious bench anymore to Spring a player from nowhere

Austin gleeson and pauric mahoney have restored out faith in the beautiful game!

Gleeson is an unbelieveable player, delighted he finally got picked in what i think is his best position. He has every skill in the game, a simply outstanding operator.
Delighted also to see mahoney back to his best, he was fantastic. After his horrific injury its great to see him back.

Would love to see Waterford win the reply but I fear that their lack of goal scoring ability could come back to haunt them

I said only a couple of weeks ago that I thought Gleeson was the brightest talent I've seen since Joe Canning.

He might be even better!

What an outstanding game this was yesterday. Really enjoyed it and it was just a pity I couldnt affored to stay in the capital all weekend and attend this game. !

Im a fan of the Deise and I really thought they where going to pull it off yesterday when they went 4 points up...Then to have Hawkeye Strike out the score and Kilkenny go up and Score the goal.! Drama of the highest order.

Cant wait for the reply.

Hawkeye doesnt strike out scores,it confirms if a point was scored or if the ball was WIDE

Mooncat'

Do you think I'm some kind of Muppet that came down in the last shower of rain or Something..? Or are you just playing Mr pedantic.?

I watched the game live on the Sunday Game and they recorded the score and had Waterford 4 points up before the assistance of Hawkeye was called upon and after it was confirmed as a wide they rectified the score by taking the point off again on the Screen..Hence why i said it was struck out...A figure of speech if you will.

Anyway' come on the Deise.

"]The questioned I asked? I asked how many AI replays Kilkenny have lost in the last 10 years, you named one.
Actually, that wasn't the question you asked. If you read your own post to me you will see your mistake.
Over and out.

Interesting game yesterday, waterford for 65 mins everything went right for them, tackling, intensity all brilliant. Really should have sealed the deal. Kilkenny were subdued and their forwards were poor apart from the r hogan who was super. I thought buckley and p walsh kept kilkenny in the game as well. Joyce to slow for center back and waterford targeted this. Its funny I expected p murphy to win the game for kilkenny at the death, how cruel would that have been for waterford. The replay will be interesting, lester ryan must start and should not have been dropped. Power will make way. Kilkenny are still a live and they have a great record in replays. They may still hold the the advantage if there forwards click

04 v clare won
12 v galway won
13 v dublin lost
14 v galway
14v tipp won

If it is like a home game to them why did they not wont to play the munster final in Thurles this year , I think a lot of people have a short memory of Kilkenny playing in Thurles.

At this stage it is all mental preparation, training sessions won't matter one iota. This is where a good manager comes in to his own and getting in to his players heads and getting them in to the right frame of mind, especially in Waterford's case, they have the players and talent to do it, McGrath needs to get them mad as hell for giving a second chance, rather than going out and giving too much respect to their opponent. Playing Kilkenny you need to play with a phenomenal work rate, you need to out muscle and out hustle them for 70 min not 65 min in order to win. If Waterford are mentally and physically prepared they certainly have the goods to do it. Easier said than done right...No disrespect to Kilkenny they are the gold standard of the modern game that all teams aspire to... GENTLEMEN START YOUR ENGINES....let's hope it's another cracker.
And a big cheer to our camogie team on Sat., get it done girls!...

Dont think playing the game in Thurles will be any great advantage or disadvantage to either team, both teams would be well used to playing there. Personally i would have loved to have seen a double header at Croke Park for the replay, with the Tipp and Galway game, as it would probably have sold out. Last Sundays thriller deserved a full house, such a pity the place was only at 40 percent capacity.

I agree it was dissappointing the attendence was it 32000? That plus the easier access for kk and wd plus the increase in neutrals id fully expect semple to be 90/95% full..smaller venue...fuller crowd = better atmosphere.
