That's great news. I was going to have a moan if the replay had been in Croke Park. I'd say there'll be at least 30K+ in Semple and a great atmosphere as well.

Great effort by Waterford, but, ultimately, it was their own mistakes which cost them. Two mistakes and a foul by Tadgh de Burca gave Kilkenny three points. Before Kilkenny got their goal, Waterford players were twice set up in front of the posts, but put the ball wide.

Kilkenny are that good that you can't give those sort of chances.

It's not that long ago but you'd probably prefer to forget it alright.
2013 LSH semi final replay.
Dublin 1-16 KK 0-16.
Tring any bells?"
Fair enough. And no, I don't prefer to forget. But with all due respect, that was a provincial semi-final. I was referring to AI semi-finals and finals.

Goals win games. And Waterford did'nt get them today- they will next Saturday. They need Maurice Shanahan.

That's amazing! Were you counting the steps of the all the players throughout the game? Or was it just Colin Fennelly? How many steps did he take every other time he had the ball?

A bit of panic at being in unknown territory in the last 5 mins....waterford outhurled kilkenny today. Richie the only stand out player. I think it will sink in tuesday or wednesday that we can beat kilkenny and should make an alrighty effort again saturday in the real home of hurling. Proud to be a deise man. Great bit of banter with kilkenny people today...even they were slagging off the ridiculous posts by some people on this site ha ha ha....deise threw it away bla bla bla....if waterford won the same people be saying wait till tipp or galway get ahold of them...if waterford lost by a point the same people be saying kilkenny had an off day. The championship is alive and well and we will have a big say in it yet!!!!!

Everyone will be saying Waterford missed their chance today.

But can we just for a second, give both teams the credit the deserve. Waterford firstly for their hunger and confidence in themselves from the first minute of the game. They hurled fantastically well. But what can you say about Kilkenny ? They weren't fantastic today, They weren't let play, But their never say die attitude and their determination to get back into the game was incredible.

Wayne defo it was a classic , I was just annoyed with McGrath for going defensive near the end when the game was there for the winning. Man on man Kilkenny couldn't live with Waterford's younger faster players and when the finishing line was in sight they go defensive and invite Kilkenny onto them and that's what got Kilkenny the draw.

Thruth is there is no magic forumla, since the turn of the centaury Kilkenny have generally been better than other teams. They start all games, replay's or otherwise, as favourite's. In recent years when they draw it is usually because they have under performed.

If you actually watch the goal again he played the ball on the hurl so forget the argument about steps

I don't believe McGrath is at fault for that, he was clearly urging his players to press up on KK in the dying moments.
If anyone is to blame it's the players.

Game of the year in either code.

Simply superb, both teams fought like wild animals, the intensity was through the roof.

The tackling, the throwing of bodies on the line, the score taking, the catching, the drive... It was all simply amazing.

Wonderful game. The GAA at its best.

i think panic set in in the last 10 minutes, the players retracted into their shell, but surely they react to what is coming in from the sideline?
for me,waterford will rue that missed chance.i will gladly be wrong.but they had kilkenny beaten but couldn't get over the line.
but the funny thing is,i think everybody will enjoy watching these warriors going at it again.
it was a great game, but don't let this match paper over the cracks after what has been a really poor year for hurling.the game badly needed it but it needs 3 more games between now and september.

I think waterford will be the happier of the two...its as good as a home ground for us as walsh pk over the years...expect a bigger waterford crowd (and kilkenny i suppose) and also an increase in neutrals id say.
