Is this Mayo's year?

There is not a lot between the 2 teams. But the Dublin management is better. If Dublin get ahead by a goal and a few points- they will see it out. If Mayo get ahead, can they finish Dublin off? Well I am not sure. That is why Mayo need to have a good lead into the last 5 minutes.

The clock keeps ticking for Connacht as well.We haven't won a senior All-Ireland for 15 years and counting.I wonder who'll end that and when.Mayo won't keep getting chances and Ros are miles off based on this year.Galway the best bet I suppose. They do have the tradition and 9 senior All-Ireland titles to their name.

The clock keeps ticking on a lot of counties. For instance it's 1944 since Roscommon won.

Yes we've lost Finals in 1946(Replay), 1962(first All-Ireland Football Final televised live by Rte) and 1980 since all against Kerry. We really blew it in the first game in '46 losing a six point lead with a few minutes to go.We were beaten by 6 points in '62 and we had a fine team in '80 that lost by 3 points to the great Kerry team, the greatest football team of all time.We seem a long way of getting near a senior final now even though we have had good underage teams.Hard to believe that Mayo have played in ten senior finals since 1989 and won none of them.If tradition counts, and it always does in Gaa, Galway are the best bet to next bring Sam west.Connacht went 32 years from 1966 to 1998 without winning Sam Maguire.Let's hope for our province that doesn't happen again.

A three year old child could tell you today with the benefit of hindsight that it's not Mayo's year.

Lay off Mayo. They are the only team to put it up to Dublin this year or last. They took Dublin to two replays unlike all the other teams that faced Dublin in championship in 2015 and 2016.

It wasn't all bad for Mayo. The 2013 winning minor team backed it up with an under 21 title. Paddy Durcan looked like he was playing for years yesterday and Coen did well when he had to go in for Keegan.

Ive nothing against Roscommon.

I was just pointing out to the bitter guy getting enjoyment out of Mayo falling short that he's hardly in a position to be smug.

Mayo are still the most likely Connacht team to win an All Ireland. Most of the key men have a good few seasons ahead of them. Add in some more of the under 21 panel and I don't see them going anywhere.

Hopefully Galway and Roscommon keep building and we have a strong Connacht championship again.
