Replying To seanie_boy:  "Why do some Tyrone lads on here continue to put the team down and portray the lads in the worst possible light? They have just won the Ulster championship after 6 year wait, they won Mc Kenna Cup,O'Fiach Cup,and achieved promotion back to div 1. They have done this while maintaining an unbeaten record this year. In all seriousness they actually could not be doin any better at this point! What do some of you want for gods sake?"
Good man seanie !! The same posters will be more likely scrambling for tickets if we reach a A1 .

I don't get it either, even if we lose to Mayo it doesn't mean we haven't advanced.
There's always learning not to lose before you can win, so if they go out there tomorrow and don't leave it all on the pitch they probably will lose.

It won't make them a bad team at all, it may have been one single unturned stone that made the difference.

I don't give a crap anyway to be honest, it's already been a stellar year for the team and we can dream of Sam again, unless you're a Kerry fan or a Dublin fan that's as good as it gets!

I would not be running down any of the three teams-- Donegal Tyrone Mayo. It's good to be going there tomorrow as tomorrow will be one of the biggest days in Gaelic football
Every team has a chance tomorrow- the championship really starts tomorrow. I think we have all done well to get there tomorrow, Dublin was always gonna be there
We all go in hope and none of us knows what will happen.
As regards Mayo v Tyrone ,, it could be a tight game. Both are two counties I like as regards Gaelic football -- Tyrone really carried the flag of Ulster through the 00's and were very successful
Mayo have been slightly different as they just failed to pull off Sam
Would like to see them won a Sam especially for their long suffering supporters
As an East Donegal man it's nice to be in Croke park with our neighbours and what a day it could be if both Ulster counties win.
Anyway best of luck to all.

This could be the last chance for a lot of these mayo players ,certainly for the older lads, there 5 years on the go now at the business end of the championship without being able to get over the line. Every team has a shelf life at the top before naturally enough they start slipping a bit , think we're seeing signs of it this season , but im hoping as a connacht man , there's a big game in them. A win tomorrow and it could ignite this mayo team ,but on form this year while id favour Tyrone

Mayo have the look of a team that are starting to stumble a bit... but Cork had that I'm 2010...

Think they'll beat Tyrone today if they manage to stay in top gear for more than 15 mins. Another patchy display and they're gone.

I think this is their year but I can't really justify that with anything other than a hunch. They've not produced anything as good as Tipp's performances against Galway or Cork, but that's worth nothing when they throw-in in two weeks. Mayo have the experience and the desire (make that desperation now).

Dublin are better than them but have to get over Donegal and Kerry just to get to the final. It just feels like things are coming together at the right time

The omens are looking good for Mayo. Not hype about them and due to win a All Ireland final now.

So the day has arrived - Are Mayo finally about to deliver or are they in danger of becoming the Halley's Comet of the GAA??
Have the Dubs peaked already and will they get found out on the biggest stage of all or will they rubberstamp their greatness? It's all in the melting pot now as they say.
Here's to a great game !!
(And obviously a Dub's triumph :-) )

Mayo do have the look of a team that stuttered and stumbled to the final and are now coming up against an unstoppable machine, but on such occasions legends can be made. I'm not a devout NFL fan but think back to 2008, you had the stuttering, stumbling 13-6 NY Giants in the Superbowl against the unstoppable 18-0 Patriots, it was basically a formality......except the Giants won!!!

Now look, I personally think Dublin are just too good, nothing to do with Mayo's final mentality but then again nothing is certain.

I'd like to see it ,just to see the reaction of the players /fans .No victory in any sport could come anywhere near close to Mayo finally winning an AI.

It would be like watching a paralyzed man in a wheelchair stand up after 65 years and walk after eight operations and false hope.

Mayos AI win would be in a different class to Leicester city title or Donegal of 2012. They came out of nowhere and won without any hints of nearly winning for the previous 20 years or so . Famines yes ,but famines without dinner being waved in your face whilst hungry.

I think most fans around the country ( besides Dubs and maybe Fermanagh after this summer) want to see it happen on Saturday because it would be a very very special day in Gaa terms that no one will forget .Every all Ireland Mayo win after their first famine breaker people will not care, nor will it be so special for them as a county , it just can't be , but It's like a sad movie that everyone just needs to see the happy ending so the film can end.

I want to see Aidan O Shea and all the old men in the stands bawling their eyes out with happiness , I want to see the celebrations on the news in castlebar and Enda Kenny singing after ten pints of Porter, I want Mayo for Sam not even from a gaa fans perspective but just as a human being. Just that raw emotion of relief of an entire county to be played out across the country .

Everyone hates watching suffering and I know no one will die because of the result but its this suffering that everyone wants to end .It's just human nature , I can't help but feel sorry for that county and I have family from there so I've always had a little thing for Mayo so I hope they can all do us a favour and win the bloody thing for once!

Went on way longer than I intended , deep rant over.

Jeez man that was a long one alright - with regard to AOS - a fella told me the other day that he reminded him of a show horse - prancing around and doing nothing - thought that was very apt - either Mayo get a game out of him soon or they sub him quickly - if they don't they will be playing with 14 players and sure to lose.

Are mayo people surprised diarmuid Oconnor is still in the team? Despite the hype his marker is almost always at least one of the main contenders for man of the match

Dublin have the better management in Jim Gavin and co. Mayo make too many changes and don't know their best team. That said- if Mayo get first score and first goal maybe, just maybe they could win. If Dublin score first and get first goal it is curtains for the Mayos.

I just can't see today's game bearing any resemblance to that of the drawn game, in fact I see it being won well not only on the score board but also on the field of play.
May the best team win?
