County you least want to see win in football?

Replying To alano12:  "not much of a gaa man so"
Never claimed to be a "GAA-man".

I'm a Dublin football fan... after that, I'm not bothered

But, can I just say well done you on presumably being a GAA-man. We are not worthy !!! *Drops to my feet in admiration of Alan here..*

Again, as I posted to Alan the wonderful, Alan the amazing, Alan the GAA-man, I never claimed to be a GAA-man. I'm a Dublin fan in the football and my commitment to that as someone who goes to every single football game from the start, to end of their year, year on year, cant be questioned. But I don't have as much interest in the final once we go out. Probably a jealousy thing.

Well the side of 1996 turned me off Meath for a bit. Really could not like that side. There is also one poster (not yourself) on this site who thinks that Meath have a divine right to sit at the top table that has turned me off the county even more than I did initially.

Wee Willie Partitionman makes it about the border yet again...

Meath of course.. I do have a great respect for them though.

Do you play/support a club?! Your opinion on anything not regarding dublin surely can't be taken seriously then!

Meath.
As it was in the beginning and always will be, Meath.
Take it as a compliment Meath lads.
In fact take it any way you want to as I really don't care!

Mayo

I remember supporting Mayo in bygone Finals. I think they are the best team not to win an All Ireland in recent times. I think they might limp to one yet like Cork did in 2010.

The reason I pick them are their supporters. They are unbearable now, imagine if they won!!!

(Ps this only because Meath are challenging, but if Meath were in any way decent it would be Meath!)

Good to see GAA snobbery is alive and well.

If you don't play or support a club, your opinion surely cant be taken seriously!

Says who ?

Are you a member of a political party ?
Are you a member of an army ?
Do you play soccer, Rugby or Tennis ?
Are you a drug user ?
Are you a doctor ?
Are you a paying member of the ISPCA?

Unless you are all of those, you're saying you cant have a seriously opinion on politics in this country ? An opinion on war and world conflict ? General rugby, tennis and football discussion in the pub with the lads cause you don't play those sports ? Can you form an opinion on drug use if you aren't a drug user ? Can you have a discussion on medical science and disease outbreak etc if you aren't a doctor. ? Does your view on Animal cruelty hold no water because you aren't working for the ISPCA ?

That's your logic ^

Fair enough.

I just think you're a snob.

I don't believe you have to be involved in a club to have an opinion on the game. You can read, watch, listen, and see to form your opinions on something.

Ah there is no point in reacting as in fairness we leave ourselves open to ridicule at times. To have lost one or two All Irelands is unfortunate but to lose seven can be classed as carelessness. I don't think we have a sense of entitlement though, more like thinking that by the law of averages we should have won one by now. Whether we deserved one or not is another matter. We had a realistic chance in five out of the seven but can only blame ourselves for not taking those chances. However, it's like tossing a coin, each final , like each toss, has to be taken on it's own merits. On a separate note I think we need a complete overhaul of our underage coaches and coaching system from national school up if we want to stay competitive, but that's a story for another day.

Wayno the GAA is not about Dublin winning in croke park abs all the glamor that comes with it. Maybe your a club man too and if you are well done. I'd follow all teams but I'm not looking for a medal. I enjoy watching football and hurling.

Do you just follow Dublin for the trill as opposed to actually enjoyed football? I actually prefer watching other teams. Watching Mayo can be stressful and I do t us usually relax until the game is over

Strangely enough I actually kind of liked the Meath team of the 90s.

Yes they were nasty and unpleasant at times but their comebacks in big matches were brilliant .

Thought Dublin took their beatings of 92 and 2014 very well.

Found them very gracious.

Don't hate any county as we are all pretty much the same - we just wear different colours .

Try living on the Galway border when they are successful

if you dont follow a club or the sport in general then you arent a proper gaa person..that is what the gaa is all about..the community...you following of dublin seeing as we are like a franchise now is no different to somebody following man utd or liverpool

.proper gaa person is somebody passionate about the sport who is usually involved in a club or at least attends club games, and follows their county, following a team like man utd which we are fast becoming isnt being a proper gaa person..its simply following a franchise and makes us no better than anybody who supports the premier league here which people like to give out about, the gaa is all about community..and considering waynol is from meath its pretty comical to see the opinions he comes out with

u seem to have a poor understanding of what the gaa is about so, why do you follow dublin if you arent from dublin?
