Kerry coming in under the radar?

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

If Kerry fire on all cylinders they have a good chance. We're still a very good solid team with know-how but we're not as scary as we were last year and Kerry know this.

Now come on, the O'Se's were never shy about holding back for the sake of peace in the Kingdom. He's right, Kerry have a chance, of course they have.

Kerry's route so far- Clare x2 and Tipp .

So easy to come under the radar .

We will probably be gone come Sunday and Kerry's season starts . A total farce .

James Horan the latest to acknowledge how much easier it is coming from a simple route ."
Galway Derry my own county nor Roscommon could avail of that route so now James Horans perennial bridesmaids can hav a shot at it!

How the hell can Kerry come in under the radar? They have nearly 40 Sams FFS!
Not possible.

Mayo and Donegal were poised to take that on after the '12 final. The 4 Regions are no better than they were in '05 to '09. Mayo are most to blame in fairness. The '13 final was there for them to seize the day. Last year's semi-final again, woeful."
You need to realize that wind ups need to be subtle to take effect ;)

Mayo are the only team to give Dublin a game over the past year or so. How Kerry's failure to do the same can be put at our door is anyone's guess.

You get to the quarters/semi through qualifiers, you are battle hardened if you win. If you lose you were tired.

You win your provincial title (except Ulster), you win you quarter and you haven't been tested. You lose its because you haven't been tested.

You lose Ulster final, you win your quarter, the Ulster final loss is used as motivation and you have been battle hardened. You win Ulster and lose a quarter, it's because Ulster took it of you. You win your quarter, tough Ulster team.

If this all sounds familiar you are listening to the annual all Ireland football debate.

The team who wins Sam are the best team.

We have won 1 All Ireland in 7 Years, unless we can conjure up a time machine and transport our great players into todays team before August 28 we have no business of being talked about with the 'Big 3' teams in Ireland

Not being asked to the wedding doesn't give you the right to be laughing at the bridesmaids.

Afraid there's only a big 'one' at this stage. Missing their best three defenders, their best midfielder playing with a damaged jaw, two men sent off, Brogan off his game and they still beat a good Donegal team. The rest of us are just making up the numbers, we're lining up like lambs to the slaughter. I don't usually feel sorry for Kerry but they must find it very hard getting lads out for training, knowing what's ahead of them.

And if anyone wants to know why Kerry win so many All-Ireland's and Mayo lose so many, that attitude is it in a nutshell....

Cause and effect Hermit. It's because we have lost all those All Irelands that I have that attitude. Beat the Dubs this year and prove me wrong and I will don the sackcloth and ashes. Until then the jury is still out and we are both whistling past the graveyard.

Sorry now but Mayo and Kerry are not whistling past the same graveyard.
If you think we are in the same bracket your very much mistaken.

Truthfully, I'm a fair weather fan who knows little enough when the conversation gets technical BUT I have noticed one thing: you sometimes lose the ones you "should" win; you occasionally win the ones you "should" lose.

It's a game. It does change. It gets more technical. Better preparation and organisation is now a given. Still, it's all about performance on any given day. Get that right at the top level and you're in with a chance; get it wrong and you haven't a prayer.

You've also lost more than anyone else so it's not all as you see it either.

Getting to the business end of the championship so often that will happen where other's would lose to lesser teams earlier.

My bad. I thought we were both in the semi final. Thanks for clearing that up.

Look at the ratios. One of the most successful countries in the Olympics - in terms of medals won to population - is New Zealand.

Look , I'm just bringing a bit of perspective to that statement . It's a fact ,like it or otherwise. That's all I'm saying !
If you want to talk about the wins then you have to be prepared to have the looses mentioned too.
