I think we will beat Donegal next Saturday quite easily. We experimented during league and things didnt go our way against Donegal. Peader Healy is putting his own stamp and along with additions of Alan Cadogan and Aidan Walsh I think we are coming into form at the right time. In fairness Donegal key players are over the hill and i expect us to be win by 6-8 points. This not arrogance. I just think Cork football season will start now. You could well be right in fairness but does sound a bit arrogant! Having said that, Ulster teams haven't turned up in the qualifiers and Tyrone are also hugely over hyped this year. Cork themselves have been poor though but i think should shade it

You can't be trust Cork to be honest. This game is a clash between one of the most mentally weak sides in the Championship of recent years against one of the mentally toughest. I see only one winner here. Donegal will be like an anaconda with Cork, first they'll squeeze the life out of them and then consume them easily. And then in typical Cork style, fall on their arses a week later at the hands of Tyrone or Dublin. waynoI (Dublin) - Posts: 13650 - 26/07/2016 11:03:16 1890218 Link 0 |

I think Cork will win but certainly not by a big margin, Tipp have shown they are a very decent side and Cork have slowly building momentum and blooding some very good young players like Sean Powter who I think should start even though he's only 19 KYTitletown (Kerry) - Posts: 816 - 26/07/2016 11:05:37 1890222 Link 0 |
Awful shame that Michael Murphy, Odhran MacNiallais and Ryan McHugh are over the hill already.

There at least one good game in us. Mullerm (Cork) - Posts: 87 - 26/07/2016 11:09:57 1890225 Link 0 |
I fancy Donegal I must say. But a win in this one is as far as either team will go this year I'm afraid. cavanman47 (Cavan) - Posts: 5024 - 26/07/2016 11:10:29 1890226 Link 0 |
I just don't think Cork have the game plan to overcome a very well organised Donegal system. Cork look suspect to runners coming through the middle of their defence and there is no one better at this than Donegal. Byanthon (Tyrone) - Posts: 1780 - 26/07/2016 11:40:59 1890256 Link 0 |
Christ aye, if men are over the hill and them not even in their mid twenties then I despair. Time for the knacker's yard for me then so!

Donegal are struggling in certain areas and don't seem to have any impact from the bench which is a worry but still expect them to beat Cork, and hope they do after reading that opening post! TheFlaker (Mayo) - Posts: 7908 - 26/07/2016 11:56:57 1890276 Link 0 |
I can see cork Winning this game, they have momentum and a serious bunch of players as good if not better than Donegal. KingdomBoy1 (Kerry) - Posts: 14092 - 26/07/2016 12:10:29 1890288 Link 0 |
Key players like Murphy, McBrearty, MacNiallis and Ryan McHugh are over the hill??? Two 22 year olds, a 23 year old and a 26 year old?? Heard it all now!

Supposedly Murphy's hips are gone and if that is true then Gallagher should play him on the edge of the square but he'l probably play him out around the middle.

Nothing wrong in believing in your team and that they can win.... Why bother otherwise, but I do take issue with the fact that you think you will win easy, 6-8 points, good god, get yourself down to the bookies as you will make some serious bucks on that if really believe it.... ben1977 (Donegal) - Posts: 364 - 26/07/2016 14:09:28 1890397 Link 1 |
Which would make him injured, not 'over the hill'!

We do have a good bench but the manager is too thick headed to use them, this is the RG show don't you know. Donegal by 3-4 points in spite of RG. TirChonaillabu2 (Donegal) - Posts: 344 - 26/07/2016 14:29:10 1890415 Link 2 |
He's after 8 years of carrying Donegal on his back and now he's practically crippled. You got to remember he is a massive frame of a man as well unfortunatly we may never see the best of him again. Gallagher needs to wrap him in cottonwool and leave him self and mcbrearty inside around the square. KingdomBoy1 (Kerry) - Posts: 14092 - 26/07/2016 15:13:56 1890451 Link 0 |
Well you are actually right about Murphy despite your sarcasm. He has done literally nothing out of note for a fair while now. I don't buy into this out of position craic either. His movement around the pitch is poor for an intercounty footballer tiobraid (Tipperary) - Posts: 4119 - 26/07/2016 15:21:33 1890452 Link 0 |
