Pete McGrath says "up the Dubs"

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Kerry: 37 times All-Ireland senior football winners.
Dublin: 25 times All- Ireland senior football winners.

Everyone else: Minor counties.

Don't fool yourself into thinking Tyrone are one of the big boys with your 3 All-Ireland's ffs.

Before you start dismissing everybody other than Kerry or Dublin as minor counties, you should probably review what standard all counties were at back when those two won their first All Ireland's.

This is a totally new point of view taken by a Down man! Usually they point out that they 'are' footballing 'royality' because they have won 5 All-Irelands (they ram this down your throat)! Now because of the humiliation you suffered this year you may have modified your opinion!

Well Pete; wait until Dublin meet Donegal and/or Tyrone and the tempo is up mid August .

The aristocrats they call themselves - whilst most of them are proper fans there's a few lose canons who appear on these forums that like to ridicule other counties in Ulster. And you're correct they compare themselves to Kerry's and Dublins AI hauls. The funny thing is with every AI they won - every single county in Ulster supported them and let there be no doubt about that.

Johnjoseph in the last five years Dublin have played tyrone or Donegal four times, winning three. So wats your point?

Does history/tradition come into it?
This year Tipp beat Cork in football, would you contend that this makes Tipp Cork bigger rivals in football, than Dublin Meath?

As for the Pete McGrath thing. You are wrong, u know it, and your bottling it.

Good man!"
It's all about Cork bet and the hay saved Liam... ah... Cork bet, hay saved!

God save me for replying to Liam but here it goes. Let's talk about more recent history. From 2013 Dubs and Tyrone have played 4 times. 2 Dublin wins by 1 point (one in which Dubs scored 3 goals), Tryone won 1 by 1 point and there was a draw. So hardly much between Tyrone and Dubs TBH. In that time both teams have improved - just a matter of how much - will we see them meet this year who knows. On the other hand Dubs much better record against Donegal in this period with just 1 win and 1 draw for Donegal out of 5 matches - however the big win was the Championship. I feel there's a real good chance of them meeting so perhaps Dubs will get both on their way to winning back to backs.

Irishgael., when your talking championship football, league results are absolutely irrelevant. Players play in league games that dont get near summer football League games are completely irrelevant. Remember, Down are Div 1 Tyrone Div 2. irrelevant
