Permutations of All Ireland QF

Replying To Knoxboya:  "This is simply that latest annual instalment of yet more evidence that the structure favours the Munster Champions.

Start with a small number of competitive counties, throw in a seeded draw before adding a final scheduled earlier in July than other provinces.

It's hardly a matter of conjecture that Kerry teams have been the benchmark for all others, but no one can seriously argue this format doesn't give rise to an unbalanced Championship."
I'm sure the other provinces can schedule their provincial championships to finish earlier if they want to, and/or seed them. It's up to them.

12 teams left three from Connnacht and Ulster, two fro Leinster and guess what four feom the weak province which favours Kerry.
To give the total lie to this theory Cork have 37 Munster football titles and seven All Irelands. Why pray does it favour Kerry but not Cork.

What happens if Clare beat Roscommon and if Derry beat Tipperary?

As Clare have already met Kerry in a provincial semi final does that mean they cannot meet in an All Ireland quarter final? Or does that rule only apply to teams who have met in a provincial final?

Because it suits the narrative that Kerry only win the soft all Ireland's but the rest win the epic ones.

No the rule is the quarter final can not be a repeat of a provincial final and where possible repeat pairings are also to be avoided. So if both Tipperary and Clare win Kerry play Clare, but if Derry and Clare win then Kerry play Derry.

Kerry have been consistently better than Cork.

Everyone knows that.

Cork maybe would have gotten less than 7 has they played in Leinster all those years.

I don't really see what point your trying to make.

Even Dara O'Se admits that Kerry get a handier route to the All Ireland each year.

You've still been the best historically but that doesn't mean that you don't have it handier now that the likes of Donegal and Tyrone.

Just wondering what if either game is a draw on the 30th? Quarter finals are lined up to be double header on the 6th, is it just pushed back a week and hold the replay instead?

The championship has always been unbalanced .

This year is no different .

Tipperary lost Munster final and get a lot of time to damage broken wounds .

Meanwhile Kerry's first touch match comes on the 28th August .

What a complete farce of a system.

And no I'm not Anti- Kerry so stop than nonsense .

I also don't blame Kerry .

It's fact , Dara and Tomas have even both said it .

Donegal v Cork; and Mayo v Westmeath.

When Donegal OR Mayo wins, the AI QF pairings are determined; BUT when Cork AND Westmeath wins, there is this quarter chance of a required draw - why ? The draw has an even chance of delivering a switched pairing from that predetermined (e.g. Dublin v Mayo in lieu of Cork) - or an overall one in eight pairing chance.
Why hold on to this 12.5% chance that may alter the AI QF pairings ?
Is there a built in excitement here in retaining a potential that I am missing ?
Why not simply have Done/Cork v Dub and Mayo/Wmeath v Tyr ?
