Masterson indeed did have a good game. To think he was carrying an injury into the game and played the full 70 was unreal.

Just on Longford, that was a complete freak of a performance. I hear they kicked 3 wides? That must be some sort of record. They were kicking points from everywhere. That performance is good enough to win an all ireland but is a performance that those Longford players probably wouldn't repeat if they played together for another 10years. Fair play to them though.

It was a perfect storm, they were utterly brilliant and we were rubbish.

We have 10 or 11 very good players and the rest are passengers. Our problem is we need those 10/11 players performing every game to win. It also doesn't help matters when the greatest Monaghan player of his generation is left on the bench and can't get 10 mins over the last 2 seasons. Ridiculous.

Good enough to win an All-Ireland? Think your giving both yourselves and them a bit too much credit there.
Monaghans problem is they have a lot more than 4 or 5 "passengers " as you describe them. They have 5 or 6 very good players the rest are very average at inter county level.
As for Finlay for Gods sake the man is done at this level, I don't care what he scored at club level this weekend or any other, his inter county days are over, time waits for nobody, anyway I thought yous were supposedly coming down with good young forwards from the U21's, time to put faith in them

Longford are one of the few weaker teams who seem to take the qualifiers seriously. They get a home draw in the next round they will be hard to beat

Superb stuff from Longford...

Great win for them and if they approach their next game with that sort of self belief and confidence they'd trouble anyone on their day
