1st lets dispel the myth that Gaelic football is played by "men". This sort of behaviour says more about a man's honour and character than the simple result of a football match.
2nd Joe McQuillan has form, always bows to the big team. Again, honour and character missing.
3rd amateur organisation in every sense of the word.

Definately a bit of a kinky Ulster fetish going on there. People who repeat they are anti something are usually in their inner depths......the other way entirely.

All the whinging about big aiden can never win a free. He will find it a lot harder after that today. This Mayo team is a hard team to like. The O'Connor brother's are always leaving in a late hand, Seamus o'shea was diving, boyle trying the ref game himself. Big Aiden shouldn't even have been on the pitch for the penalty incident as was already booked when he should have been sent off for a pull down.

Replying To ponga:  "The hysteria from some of the "wee girls" on here today is bordering on pathetic. OK, I understand ye wanted Fermanagh to win but at least try to be a little bit balanced. The big decision according to ye all was the penalty. Soft or not the hand went in and AOS went down. Soft yes but still a penalty. Some of ye claiming he was diving all day. A load of bull***t. He was dragged and pulled all afternoon and got less than half the frees he should have got. The COC penalty claim was valid but ye choose to ignore that and an obvious push on Boyle for the Fermanagh goal is totally disregarded. I thought Fermanagh were terrific today but in all honesty there should have been a bigger winning margin. I decided not to reply to any of the nonsense I've seen on here until I got home from the game and watched it again with time to review things several times. Having done so I admit that my first impressions of some of the incidents were wrong but on the whole Mayo were more sinned against than sinners. Some of the posters on this thread should really take a long hard look in the mirror and be as objective when viewing their own team."
Haha ya clown . There needs to be contact for it to be a foul.

Just seen the match, there is contact alright, big Aidan given Che Cullen a big push before the ball is delivered. Should have been a free out if truth be told.

Replying To moc.dna:  "Typical blinkered reply, the evidence is so clear that it was a dive & people across the country are calling it as it is. It's not all anti Mayo as you are portraying, Aidan O Shea is a player admired by many of us for his skill but it doesn't matter whether your from Galway or Mayo or Tyrone or wherever, diving is cheating & not an aspect we want to watch in Gaa. Take off the blinkers man."
Funny how it is obviously a dive but the push on Boyle for the fermanagh goal which was quite obvious to both commentators who said it could be well a free out, or the foul on Cillian O Connor that should have been a penalty but let's just focus on one incident that suits us !!

Replying To browncows:  "roundball (Tipperary)- We are talking about the match today not what happened last year as it is of no relevance. That was a dive like a few others where he got handy frees and there should have been no penalty- not good for the game. Will our pundits get another rule change for this type of behaviour -maybe a blue card!"
It is relevant browncow. Psychology 101. Past experience influences future behaviours. O Shea has not got the benefit from referees when he has tried to stay on his feet. When he's gone down he has been rewarded.

You really saying can't see the difference between a push and a dive?
Have you ever seen or felt compelled to start a thread about a player pushing another player when jostling for a ball?
No comparison my friend

Replying To bennybunny:  "Quigley stood his ground. Keane dived. Correct decision. O'Shea dived. Fermanagh got screwed. All that aside, it is not up to Mayo players to referee matches. That is the referee's job. Mayo players mandate is to win matches. This topic and the one about Aidan O'Shea is unwarranted. People's gripe is with referee's and the Gaa for allowing it. The same goes with the nonsense that surrounded Tiernan McCann and Tyrone 12 months ago."
It was Colm Boyle involved in that incident, not Keane, and he was clearly out in front for that ball and got a nudge. It's not as if Quigley doesn't have form for this sort of thing: remember his 'goal' against Dublin last year?

Regarding the O'Shea issue, yes, he clearly dived and I won't condone that. But much of the commentary here is beyond hysterical and pales in comparison to some incidents involving other county sides in the not-too-distant past. I'm sure we can expect the same standards of indignation following the next controversial incident involving their counties...

Jack goff has it spot on,the cynicism of the Mayo team in general was so hard to watch that I tuned out half way through the second half. Are they the only team that practice conning the officials,no.This is a cancer thats part of our games now and only action by congress to retrospectivly punish players will eradicate it.

Actually you'd be right I haven't but if I did I would say the same thing, you can't compare a push in the back with players diving.

I'm reading posts on different issues around this game and I can't believe what nonsense my fellow county people are saying, Mayo were awful yesterday, they didn't even try in the first half, no wonder some supporters booed them off the pitch at halftime, Fermanagh played too defensive in 2nd half drawing Mayo onto them, even though Mayo were on top in 2nd half it still took 65 mins to get into the lead, these rose coloured views from fans about their own team is the reason why most counties can't win a title, Aiden O'Shea has a habit of falling too easily and 99% of refs won't give him a free and do you blame them, if you make a bad name for yourself you will always carry it with you until you retire, time for him to man up and stand his ground and stay on his feet
