Tyrone for Sam 2016

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Far too early to say - we will only know the relative strength of Ulster when we hit the All Ireland series. Because it seems like there is not much to choose between the like of Tyrone, Donegal and Monaghan this does not tell us how strong they are relative to the Dublins and Kerrys.

Still have not played a D1 side from this year.

We will know in two weeks in they are the real deal .

In fairness they look good .

I'm still confident we can beat them .

Tyrone looked very impressive yesterday but I wouldn't expect Donegal to cough up as many goal chance in the Ulster final. The winner of the Ulster final will certainly be All-Ireland contenders. If Tyrone can beat Donegal then I think they have every chance. But they need to win Ulster first I feel. Same for Donegal, if we can't win Ulster not likely we would be able for the likes of Dublin.

Hoping for a Donegal win but not really confident, going to be a great match, hope Tyrone don't employ the usual tactics on MM."
I'd love to know what "the usual tactics on MM" means - I wish people would not use acronyms assuming we all know what they mean. However I'm sure its not too complimentary but I hope Donegal or Tyrone people don't start this negative slagging against each other prior to game - lets keep it positive to what will be game of the championship so far. As its a Donegal man who posted this, if I were you I would hope your manager instils some discipline on your team - when is the last time you finished with 15 players on the pitch - Tyrone's fast moving style will totally get under your skin and I can see some dodgy tackles and cards. As with Tyrone they really need a free taker - they will get frees against Donegal and in a tight game they need to score them.

Have you forgotten Donegal Mayo Kerry ??"
Don't know why you are mentioning Mayo as potential contenders. That particular ship has sailed!!!

Everyone knows Tyrone have, in the past singled Michael Murphy out for 'special treatment'. Justin McMahon will probably go on him again and probably get involved in some hard hitting both fair and foul. It's the truth, I don't see why anyone would try and deny obvious tactics.

I think it is fair to say that tyrone will be all ireland contenders in the foreseeable future. I dont know about this year, I am sure they are taking it one game at a time like ourselves. But in August, you can be sure that they will be putting in the performances to be at the very end of the season in september. Sure that is everyone's aim at the end of the day.

Come knock out stages, tyrone will be very hard to beat and will most likely be a team who will not be playing to nick a result, rather to have a real go and outscore the opposition. Kerry or dublin will be a good yardstick as to how they have come on this year. The ulster final will be an all out war of attrition. I wouldnt read much into it other than who blinks first.

What happened to the 'positive' approach?

One things for sure, whoever comes out of Ulster as champions this year will be very well primed to go on to challenge for Sam.

If Tyrone win they will feel invincible.

If Donegal win their battled hardened team will believe they can achieve 2013 all over again, and who would bet against them.

Dublin still the team to beat. Don't ever rule out the Kingdom.

I hope Donegal are better than they were in 2013...didn't end so well!! The point you are making is correct though, whoever wins Ulster will fancy their chances of making the All Ireland Final.

I'm not so sure just yet. Granted 4 of the 5 goals that Cavan scored were down the wings rather than this notion of a high ball so at least it shown others that its possible. I think Donegal just have a little more upfront. That said how about a draw..
